Part cooling fan issues after printer upgrade
I just finished my 3.1 upgrade. Also added EBB42 and Beacon.
I'm still in the commissioning phase but I suspect that my part cooling fan is not working. I'm not printing yet, but when I operate the fan slider in the UI Miscellaneous section, nothing happens. But that should start the fan - right?
I wired my Nidec fan according to the build guides (I beleive, at least).
Red and Black are going to PA8 on my Octopus Pro 446.
Blue is going to PA1 on the EBB42.
Configurator was set to Digital PWM on 2-pin port.
Pictures of wiring and ratos.cfg attached.
What am I missing?

Solution
OK - solved it.
Did not use an always on fan port on the Octopus ...
That would do it! Mark this as solved when you can 😉
The documentation on this actually has room for improvement. The octopus pro manual states that the board provides two always on fan ports. But there is no clear documentation which ports. You need to take this as a hint and then go through the pin map to figure them out.
After upgrade I just put the fan back to the port I used before upgrade. True ... if I RTFM and used my brain, this would not have happened....
I just used the diagram in the dozuki instructions and it worked. Deviating from those I'd have wanted to do research
FYI I made a comment on the docs. For me, if I used the setup detailed in the docs, the fan span at 100% during boot. By connecting the negative pin to a heater port and using some code in printer.cfg, you can stop this happening
Sure, that's expected
Well, that surely helps as long as you are using the "standard" - which is the Octopus. That does not apply for the rest of the long list of supported boards.
And to be clear, the perceived documentation shortcoming applies to the board docs - not the RatOS doc.
