RatOS wizard problems
Hi, I started the install wizard with RatOS-v2.0.2, I have Raspberry Pi 4 and Octopus v1.1. The Wi-Fi connected without a problem, but I can't flash the board with the USB-C cable.
I read here that I should use RatOS-v2.1.0-RC2. I updated it to this version, and now I can't connect to the wifi or flash the board.
How can I solve this? I really don't want to buy a new SD card just to flash the board.
Any ideas on how to solve it?
Thanks
Update: I flashed RatOS-v2.1.0-RC2 with Balena Etcher 18.0 and the wifi connected, however, the octopus v1.1 still can't flash automatically or with the DFU with the error: "Status: DFU not detected"

The jumpers for the fan voltage and for the probe voltage should not matter, I had not removed them either. But I would remove the jumpers for the drivers and try again. Also switch off the Pi.

Try Flash via Sdcard
do i need a seperate SD or can i use the one from the rapberry pi?
Separate
Thanks, I used a new SD card (formatted 16 GB A1 Sandisk card) and plugged the board in.
The status Led on the board is flashing for almost 45 minutes without change. What am I doing wrong?
The Firmware is on the new sdcard?
Or try another usb cable from the rpi to the mainboard
How to you power the mainboard?
Habe you done the Flashing with the sdcard according the Manual
yes, and new sd card
its the one provided by BTT but I'll change it
with the pi 4 blue USB A ports directly into the USB C port on the octopus
I did it based on the manual flashing instructions, I formatted it to FAT32 8k I copied only the firmware.bin from ratos inserted the sd card to the octopus and pressed the reset button.
I also tried to see if the sd card had firmware.cur like the btt manual suggested but there was no file so I reinserted the sd the unplugged and plugged back the USB from the pi to the octopus
So the Firmware.bin does‘nt change to Firmware.cure?
The jumper for usb power in on the mainboard?
yes and yes
Can you try to power via 24 Volt or with a other usb Power?
i dont have electronics assembled yet but i have the rpi power supply that i can connect directly to the octopus
Try this.
Also try to rename the Firmware to Firmware1.bin
will do, im also formatting the new sd again to 4kb.
any idea how long it should take? or if the status LED should change?
Maybe your Board Accept only 8gb cards
It should Not take Long.
Maybe 10-20 sec
Looking at your video, it seems to me that the jumper on the board is not set for boot0. If this is the case, the board cannot be started in DFU mode and the transfer does not work.
I tried manual flashing after the DFU was not recognized by RatOS, should I try it again? do I need an sd card in for DFU?
didnt work, changed the name and the power source. I might have to go get a 8 gb card
@c00ki3 vc4 300 hybrid Thanks for all your help, I really appriciate the help!
For dfu Mode no sdcard needed
I would have to read the documentation of btt for the installation via sd card. But I'm not at home at the moment. If I were you, I would try it again via dfu. Disconnect the board, set jumpers, connect the board and try again via RatOS. If it doesn't work I'll read the documentation later and get back to you.
Here are the manual for the board: https://github.com/bigtreetech/BIGTREETECH-OCTOPUS-V1.0/blob/master/BIGTREETECH_Octopus_EN_updated_0719.pdf

I tried it with a few different cables, and its stuck on this
Not entirely sure how much it matters but the documents tell you to take every other jumper off. To flash with RatOS 2.1 the only jumper should be USB power. If that fails the wizard walks you through DFU option where u temporarily add the boot jumper.
Solution
The jumpers for the fan voltage and for the probe voltage should not matter, I had not removed them either. But I would remove the jumpers for the drivers and try again. Also switch off the Pi.
Sequence:
Switch everything off
Remove the jumpers for the drivers
Plug the board into the Pi
Switch on the Pi
new attempt with RatOS wizard via manual DFU, not via autodetect
Just found another picture. Apparently the reset button must be pressed, otherwise the board will not go into DFU mode.
It worked!
The steps: (like @Oldschoolhippie said)
Switch everything off
Remove the jumpers for the drivers
Plug the board into the Pi
Switch on the Pi
new attempt with RatOS wizard via manual DFU, not via autodetect
@Oldschoolhippie, @c00ki3 vc4 300 hybrid Thank you both so much for the help I really appriciate it!

I have the same issue as omerk83 above. I have tried flashing the board via DFU and SD Card. Each time i get "Octopus V1.1 detected but is unresponsive." and attempt to flash again. Any idea what to try next?
