Colors Series: Pink - Topic of the day 7/27/24
Pink is the color of a namesake flower that is a pale tint of red. It was first used as a color name in the late 17th century. It's symbolism can differ by location; in Western cultures pink is the color most often associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood and romance, whereas in other cultures pink can represent trust, stimulation, excitement, and the start of spring. Despite its present associations with femininity in modern Western cultures, it has historically also been seen as a gender-neutral or masculine color. What are your thoughts on pink, and how does it fit in your wardrobe?

Pink is good. I like to wear pink. Yeah that’s all I have to say about that.
Except maybe that it’s also pretty cool that hot pink really had a moment last year with all that Barbie stuff.

Dusty pink is a really nice color
pink in general rlly nice
Is not red, but it's sort of close. So I guess it's okay.
It's a good color for ivy fits
Love my pink uni stripe oxford.
I love pink and my pink clothes but sometimes struggle to style super pastel clothes, including pinks, so there’s work to be done
Pink
Pairs well with blue, so that's a plus for me
some pink stuff
Pink and green together is one of my favorite color combos. Dusty pink and olive green
i like pink as a color. but i can’t wear it. it’s nothing toxic masculinity-related; i just have a lot of red undertones in my skin and i get stupid blushy stupid easy and it just makes pink look bad on me. so i just don’t wear it unless it’s the color of a print or pattern on a shirt or something.
pink good
I have a friend who swore off pink shirts like that. He came around with super-faded pink tops; or pink shorts. The trick there was usually to make sure it was paired with white or a light cream, so it wasn't the lightest color on him.
smart. it mostly just blends into my skin
or draws too much attention to my acne :pdead:
as someone who had terrible acne when I was younger, I feel you, but looking back I realize outside of the rare shithead, it was really only me that noticed
I like some pinks, but I'm still figuring out how I feel about it in a gender way (grew up being put in a lot of frilly pinks). I think maybe in a few years I'll circle back around to it but for now it feels complicated personally
I haven’t shaken the 2000s pink shirt frat bro association unfortunately
but my favorite pink is always in American desert vibes
The what
Do you mean "Desert vibes" as in the actual color of the desert sometimes? In which case, yes... absolutely amazing color
Like when you get that cotton candy pink and blue look? Like “dessert” vibes?
I love pink
My pink Adidas GATs have been some of my most worn sneakers this spring/summer
I need some more pink tops
those are cool
pink shoes are underrated
versatile but also pops
Meme is reductive obviously, but college in the mid-2000s had plenty of these guys listening to Three 6 Mafia playing beer pong on the frat house lawn
Yeah in the Southwest kind of motifs and palette (which I assume comes from the desert sunsets)
I love Southwestern motifs. Turquoise is the color that usually comes to mind first, but pink is super prominent too
I'm thinking about buying this pink cardigan
Gorgeous
The fourth and especially the fifth faded pink cari is amazing too
I think pink is one of those colors where I really have to think about saturation/tone being a thing bc I tend to just think straight hot pink when there's so many ways it could be expressed
