Getting started & maybe files missing?
I had Klipper running before but I wanted to try RatOS. I have used a new SD card & flashed the control board.
I am having some issues with just getting started. Apologies if these are stupid questions or if I have missed something really obvious.
I have included the Beacon .cfg in my printer.cfg but I cannot do a Z-home. When I go into the file RatOS/z-probe/beacon.cfg there is very little information there. THere is a lot more on the RatOS github.
What am I missing here?

What do you mean you cannot home? What happens when you hit the home button? What version of RatOS? If its not 2.1 download that at https://os.ratrig.com/docs/configuration and then follow the initial configuration by connecting to the Pi's wifi SSID of RatOS and follow the initial instructions at https://os.ratrig.com/docs/installation. From there I would go to the machine tab and updating everything. 2.1 is a release canidate OS and has a TON of patches. Once it is fully updated and on your wifi go to the configuration tab and then setup wizard and pick everything in the GUI on how your printer is configured. You should not need to edit any config files to get your printers basic functionality working
Configuring RatOS | RatOS
RatOS only needs minimal configuration to work, but comes with a lot of optional functionality that you can enable manually.
The full beacon config is at https://github.com/HelgeKeck/RatOS/blob/documentation_v2.1/site/docs/configuration/beacon_contact.md as the documentation for RatOS 2.1 is not done yet

OK, Maybe I had used an old RatOS. v2.0.2-35-gd08d0b60
When I home Z it just says no beacon model loaded.
I dont know what works or does not work with beacon in 2.0. I would just reflash it to 2.1 and the upgrade everything and then follow the github link on the initial beacon calibration. You have to do that as it needs to write some configuration so it knows its offset. Its not like a typical touch / sense probe.
I am obviously missing something. I can only see version 2.0.x on https://os.ratrig.com/docs/configuration/ & only 2.0.2 on Github.

Ah, I finally found it on https://github.com/Rat-OS/RatOS/releases/tag/v2.1.0-RC1
by the way it was not obvious at all to find this link.

Documentation is underway, 2.1.0-RC1 is marked as a pre-release until it's ready. Update all packages after connecting RatOS to your wifi network.
If you like the project and want to see it con...
agreed. They are still working on documentation, etc. Download that one, get it on your network similar to what you did with 2.0 and then go into machine tab and update everything and then into the configurator and you should be able to walk through and pick all of your parts and get it working. Beacon works great with it. Just follow Helge's github instructions and you should be set. Heading to bed as its 1am here 😦
Thank you for your help 👍
