opinions if this looks like a costume

Just wanted to hear other thoughts on these pair of trousers from Polo. I'm into trad/preppy style, but I'm not sure if there's too much going on with these khakis.

These look like the most inoffensive pair of pants besides like a pair of jeans

I was just concerned with the pleat+ticket pocket it would be a bit much, but I appreciate the feedback

99% of people will just see a pair of tan pants

Iā€™d say the double pleats and ticket pocket make these chinos better than normal flat front ones if anything Actually adds a lil detail/interest to otherwise boring pants

Buck Mason has a non-pleated version of these (Officer Pants, eyeing them yesterday). They're all over, and definitely not a costume unless you cosplay them up

bro what do you mean by cosplay them up these are just pants

honestly i think the ticket pocket makes it cool šŸ¤· they're only a costume if you treat them like one. if you like them buy them and put that shit on ***maybe check ebay first to find a deal

he asked if they look like a costume, I said they won't unless he wants them to, that's all

sorry that came off as needlessly aggressive

Thanks for the help guys Idk how I'd even cosplay them up, but I'd "have" to probably tuck them in whenever I wore them. Seems weird to wear these type of pants and not tuck them in

I was leaning into the military background of them. If you wore those with heavily-military styled other pieces, there's a thin line between looking great or your costume question As for the tucking in, for most things, sure. But you could also wear a tank or tshirt tucked or not, and then an open shirt over it. Chambray would be an easy match imo. They're pretty versatile

check #waywt and to a degree #inspiration for fits; people of people are wearing pleated khakis

I'd most likely wear it with either polos, button downs, or tees. I'm not too complex when it comes to making a fit šŸ˜ My sorta end goal is to resemble vintage Polo ads from the 80s and 90s Which then may look like a costume, which is a fine line to walk

if you like the look just embrace it šŸ‘ it might be hard if you're not used to looking like that but it gets easier with time. tl;dr

These are the pants that come with the default character pack

They're a pretty blank slate that you could turn in many different directions so I wouldn't say that they are costumey. They'd look equally fine with a blazer in true trad style or with a tucked in white t-shirt + denim jacket for a more heritage Americana look

Idk if that's supportive or negative but fair

for real to people that don't hang out here they're just gonna look like pants and to people that do hang out here they'll look like cooler pants

That was a bit facetious, sorry šŸ˜…. What I meant was they are very neutral, and are unlikely to draw much attention

These are cool af Love little pockets like that. What do back pockets look like?
Salty Buckets
Salty BucketsOPā€¢5mo ago
Just a classic polo rear with 1 flap pocket. These are inspired by Polo Dry Goods chinos which I believe were an early to late 80s genre of chinos for Polo

Historically most chinos are flat front, specially for ivy style, while some dress pants are pleated.
