What are your favorite tank tops/sleeveless t-shirts/vests (UK)? Favorite brands at low medium and high price points? What do you look for in a tank top? Do you use separate tank tops as undershirts vs outer layers What brands have been great for them and what brands have really let you down? Do you prefer ribbed or plain textures? Lightweight or heavier? Thin or thick strap? Plain or designs? Feel free to share a few of your favorite fits or inspo that feature tank tops, too. *(Note: the Favorites Series will be

It is really really hard to go wrong with the hanes ribbed tanks if we’re talking undershirts
:ribbedtank:
I have the uniqlo ribbed ones but I couldn't see them as an outer layer, they are quite long. I've been interested in picking up something I could just wear with shorts
The ones from Target are nice
Wythe and Scott Fraser make some awesome ones that I enjoy. Hanes gets the job done too but I like when they have a bit more texture.
Open jacket with the wife pleaser underneath is nice
Type 2/Hanes
forgot how much I hate when they're called pleasers lol
i can't deny the usefulness of hanes (or prl lol) ribbed tanks, as seen in most of my recent #waywt posts
When the sale gets deep enough i like getting lemaire ones off ssense.
uniqlo airism mesh tank is also good; breathable, but more substantial than a multipack undershirt probably because of the straps
Also a big Scott Fraser fan for this
That said I feel like i need a better option to wear standalone, as right now all I have is an old Issey Miyake one.
Cut offs/stringers are my favorite
I like my sfc ones - I should wear them more often
I only just got my first ones recently. They’re Bronson and they do the job. They’re a bit thick though.
Wearing tank tops is a very new thing for me. I have 3 pairs from Uniqlo that seem totally acceptable. They are ribbed, and I think cotton/poly, but mostly cotton. I only wear them as undershirts, but with the outer layer unbuttoned enough that the tank is usually visible.
I got an airism oversized tee about 4 years ago and cut it up myself, easily my favorite tank
all of my tees and sweatshirts eventually turn into a cutoff or a stringer
only issue with cutoffs for me is finding the sweet spot between looking great and exposing my nipple
Are those two incompatible?
Seriously, though, it took a bit for me to feel comfortable in a tank top, because the collar is lower than I'm used to, and I felt a little exposed.
I love the PRL but the straps run long on me so I had to cut and resew, but now they're perf
yeah if at least one of my tiddies aren't out wtf am I doing
I was really excited to try out tanks this summer, but they just haven’t been working for me. Pretty much always love them on other people though.
I LOVE the Wythe tanks
Have way too many of them
They hold up better than most
what hasn't been working?
I love the Scott Fraser Mesh tanks. Hanes ribbed tanks are super good too for the price. This thread has me thinking I need to try the Wythe ones
I’ve worn my outlier overkill mesh tanks almost every single day since they came out—genuinely the most immediate and long-lasting obsession I’ve ever had with an article of clothing
it’s a very compressive, stretchy mesh and has a really tight weave so i think it’s workable into a lot of fits that other meshes wouldn’t go as well with. for example, i wear under a blazer quite often for presentations at work and no one’s said anything so far
Do you have the other outlier tanks?
I was looking at them for a bit but wasn't sure what the difference was
i have a nyco gaze
really thin, dry handfeel cotton—feels like something rick would wear. i don’t have the new earth cotton tank but nec is much thicker and closer to a sturdy t shirt material—think uniqlo u shirts but more luxe. ramielust isn’t my cup of tea aesthetically but they do really well in the heat
nyco gaze and overkill mesh are cut tighter than nec and ramielust iirc
ramielust and injected linen is interesting but i guess i'll just have to bite the bullet instead of wondering forever
the willienorris stuff was rly cool too
injected linen (injex) is fantastic, i live in injex dartflows all summer
i prefer over ramie
What do ug do for sizing with the Hanes ones?
I can't tell how tight a tank top should be
did the bronson ones already get mentioned? Real nice and soft
but sturdy
The Abercrombie ones fit me well (standard ribbed tank). But I'm a sweat-er and the look creates a lot of laundry/dry cleaning bills. Going back to lightweight or linen tees more often now. Don't really have many situations to wear tanks on their own outside of working out
smaller than you think
I size down so you can see the outline of my gut more
I think the Bronson ones are a nice step up in quality of cotton used (more substantial and softer) than Hanes, but they're also the only Bronson item in which I ever wished I sized down. I prefer my undershirts to be tight and these fit more like how I'd wear a tee. Still very happy with them despite that.
I’m not sure. I think I just don’t love the look of how it clings closely to my body.
i've been v curious about these and you're microinfluencing me
also double barcelona slay omg
u should cop i promise it’s worth
45 day no questions returns too
How did you size for these? TTS?
i size down so that they’re skin tight but most ppl go tts or one up
