My favorite is the Engineered Garments chambray work shirt. I am curious about getting another chambray of a different style, so I'll be watching this thread closely
Maybe cringe to admit but my favorite chambray shirt is actually an old jcrew one I got on ebay, I got it like seven years ago and liked it so much that I just tracked down another one to replace it
not cringe. J crew denim/chambray stuff is the best of that brand
I currently have a red Momotaro and a blue/white stripe UES chambray that I love a lot. Would definitely recommend them both. A few friends of mine have chambrays from the Rite Stuff and they’re lovely too.

I've got the standard issue jcrew chambray but I wore it while I painted my apartment to get that patina
yeah i find unless they're a little worn out/patched/splattered they look sterile enough to feel like a normal blue dress shirt. Zero interest in wearing a brand new chambray shirt

Oh man I’m my favorite shirt of many years was a huge (probably normal size but this was like 2014) chambray shirt from the thrift that I chopped the collar off of. I gave it to a girlfriend and never got it back 😮💨

I bought the J.Crew Japanese chambray shirt like 9 years ago for $25 at a sample sale. It is, by far, my most-worn shirt. Absolutely love it. I want to get a replacement with a higher collar and shell buttons but haven't yet found the right thing

just because i remember it being pretty lightweight. fit is probably too slim for what you'd be looking for though
i could always size up. i find jcrew can be a bit of a pain in the ass finding here (im def not buying new from their site) but i'll star scouring.

Quick chambray related question bc i really only have denim shirts so far: how should a chambray workshirt fit? Rather loose or rather trim?
I would say for a work shirt probably looser as on the trimmer side would restrict movement which is against the point of a work shirt
I think it could fit the same as you like a denim shirt to fit.
however you want really. I like a lose boxy fit on workshirts but chambray in a trimmer cut with tailoring can be very nice
