Brands with "short" OCBDs? Is that a thing?

I want to dress ivy style, but OCBDs off-the-rack don't seem to fit me very well - mostly just on length. I like a relaxed fit. For reference, I'm 5'10" with a 44" chest and 32" waist so I generally need an XL/2XL in most brands to fit my shoulders and chest. But these shirts are too long for me and I'm also swimming in fabric at the waistline. The shirt bottom often ends up below my pants zipper. I so far have had to take most shirts to my tailor for alterations but the cost adds up. Wondering if there's any suggested off-the-rack shirt brands for me. Thanks in advance! Budget: My budget is preferably under <$100 per shirt, but I don't mind paying more for something that fits well. Brands I've tried in the past that fit well except for length: uniqlo, j. crew, brooks brothers, 3sixteen, portuguese flannel, gitman vintage Open to shopping either online or in-person (northern california, USA)

Not what you're asking but my vote is to tuck in your shirt

i have the same problem as op and when i tuck, the fabric billows out from my waist so much i can’t stand it. beyond what could be referred to as “boxy” my solution was to buy a sewing machine and learn to crop shirts and tees myself

I wear pretty large shirts. The billowiness is useful imo for movement and drape https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1226924935943946341

j.crew's ***recent OCBDs tend to be a little short in my experience but if you're about that ivy life tucking in your shirt comes with the turf imo

Yeah that's the thing^ Below the fly is perfectly normal for shirts - most of my OCBDs reach about the crotch seam - since originally they're very much meant to be tucked in. For summer Ivy fits both tucked (even into shorts) and untucked (becomes kinda like a field jacket) works: https://oxfordclothbuttondown.com/2024/04/shorts-on-the-horizon/ You probably can find some like mall/store brands with shorter OCBDs (Land's End?) but that's just not what they're about imo

I’ve been down and out with the flu all week. I managed to make it out of bed yesterday, but I still haven’t got one single fit off all week. What I have done this week is sleep. A lot of sleep. While sleeping I also dreamed a lot. I dreamed about warm weather and […]

I am 5'7" (with a belly) and I love the length on Gitman OCBDs for wearing untucked. It could be a bit shorter on you too per height diff. They're usually 30-80 on ebay.

Muji makes OCBD pretty short in length.
