Rapido hotend not going below 179 degrees
Hi, have built a ratrig V core 3.1 with a rapido uhf and an octopus 1.1. As soon as klipper starts the hotend temperature goes up to 179 degrees, although "State" says the heater is off and "Target" is set to 0. and when I set the temperature to 200 degrees, it bounces around between 200- 230 degrees, and "state" jumps between 0 and 100% nothing else. Does anyone know what the error could be.

Check your thermistor
You need to set the correct thermistor in your printer.cfg
is this what you mean, sorry if it wasn't clear, but it's scorching hot if you touch it so it's not measuring the wrong temperature it just seems to be getting power all the time
Okay this is very strange, I tried a lot of different things and nothing worked, had the same problem. Then when I woke up today, I thought of measuring the voltage with a volt meter on the contacts where the heating element is connected to see if it is constantly putting out power. When I nudged the contacts on the Octupe's card, it shut down and restarted and now everything works as it should. 🙂
