1.0.206 Not Working on Quest Pro
I tried testing 1.0.206 (OpenBrush_Quest_1.0.206.apk) on Meta Quest Pro with latest firmware and it is not working for me. Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue?
AppLab version works fine.

Can we have a bit more detail on the "not working for me" part? What happens exactly?
Also where are you getting 1.0.206 from?
Not working for me on my quest pro.. Asks for permissions and goes to a black screen
OK. So "black screen after launch"
When you say "App Lab Version works fine" - which version do you mean? There's 3 versions available on AppLab:
just want to be clear where the "broken" version is coming from.
because 1.0.206 is also an AppLab version
Mine says version 1.0.206-g3940924a
I got it by searching open brush on side quest, redirected to Oculus, and redirected again to app lab
When installing OpenBrush from AppLab from within the headset I'm not getting a choice of which version. When I check info it's 1.0.0
so everything is from applab - broken and working versions?
No the version that isn't working is the APK. https://github.com/icosa-gallery/open-brush/releases/download/1.0.206/OpenBrush_Quest_1.0.206.apk
right!
that's why i was asking "where did you get it from?"
I get no options for install versions from within the headset..
Aaaaaand I've just noticed there's two different people in this thread!
I now have to reread the whole thing coz i thought i was talking to one person!
I'm only getting one version to choose from when installing from AppLab or I would get the beta from there instead of manually installing the APK.
I was just in autopilot and treating this conversation like it was 1 to 1! Apologies for the confusion both of you
I think you can only choose a different version via the web page: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/3600360710032222/?locale=en_GB
Blame Meta for that delightful user experience
ah ok
Paging @mikesky - one for you I believe.
Which one seems to be working on quest pro?
Beta is working when installed from AppLab.
live and beta if installed from applab
I confirmed beta version from inside the openbrush app. Does beta support passthrough? How do I turn passthrough mode on in the openbrush app?
You posted about your last question separately and for the benefit of anyone else finding this it was answered here: https://discord.com/channels/783806589991780412/1055537131285647391
I can't seem to get this to work either...
The above is from SideQuest on my desktop with Meta Pro connected. If I install the BETA (PICO) version and open through "Unknown Sources", it opens a window that is black. Installing the from "Store" says Release Date 03/12/2021, 345 MB. But downloads something like 145 MB. Now it's official and under "All", but I get a blank room vs screen with 3 progress dots that hang. Would be easiest to explicitly "Install APK file from folder on computer"
Try removing all versions from your headset, then hard reboot, then only install the App Labs version, preferrably 1.0.0. Install it from within the headset.
Rather than SideQuest, it's better to install a custom app from APK using Meta Quest Developer Hub. But first you should clean things up and get the most basic version of the OpenBrush app to work on your Pro headset.

OMG, just got this working and it was a permission issue! Did a factory reset and followed instructions, still got horizontal 3 progress dots that just hang. Was about to give up and noticed the "3 vertical dots" (Settings) -> Permissions -> Storage was disabled by default! Enabled this, restarted and logo screen came up. Finally, underwhelming color passthrough!
Ooh, so it’s a permissions issue?! Thanks a lot, I’ll try find out why it’s stopped asking for storage up front
@dwillington how is 1.0.217 on the latest firmware for you? I've got a quest pro for the night and I can't replicate it, so perhaps it somehow got fixed?
I guess the way to test would be to go to permissions manager and turn storage permission off, then try launch it again
I've pretty much been solely using it on Quest 2. I find the Pro a pain to move over my head before issuing new commands on my shell. My use case is change code, run API commands, witness in VR, and cycle. I have no issues with just using my Quest 2. But if you're nudging me to test this for your feedback, let me know, I'll find the time
I'd appreciate it just to be sure, thanks!
just got around to testing this. I uninstalled my last version from the Pro, powered off, did a hard boot, and installed what turns out is version 2.0.2. It requested permissions access for Media and all has started up well
Great to hear, thanks for checking again!
