IDEX XY Offset drift (VC4)
I have been following this thread, and it seems that this problem could be caused by the asymmetry of the X belt lengths and thermal expansion/contraction of the belts. The stepper motors are what control the position, so lets assume they are fixed in the correct position. The belts stretch due to the belt tension, with the stretch varying linearly with length. The T0 print head has a short belt length to its stepper motor on the left, and a long belt length on the right. If the belt warms up and expands, it will then shift to the left. Conversely the T1 print head has a long belt length to the left and a short belt length to its stepper motor on the right. So it will shift to the right. The y belts are symmetric, so no Y shift will occur with temperature. The X home currently only happens at the beginning of the print. What if the X home was repeated every 10 layers, and the X offset adjusted to compensate for this effect?
