[Framework 16 dGPU] Steam window crashing in a loop
What is the difference between running 'steam' and 'bazzite-steam'? When I am trying to figure out when a cloud upload is stuck or some other steam issue I run 'steam' to see what the log is saying and didn't even know 'bazzite-steam' was a thing. Checking my autostarts it is using bazzite-steam however.
I am not using DRI_PRIME at all and when I am on the desktop with steam in the task tray my 7700S is using 1 watt and iGPU is using ~15 watt. When I launch a game the 7700S is engaged using ~98 watts. I thought DRI_PRIME has not been necessary for a while now and checking just now still does not seem necessary unless I am missing something.

Re-installed Bazzite Deck. CSS Loader no longer works.
CSS Loader was using 8.8.8.8 to check for internet access and my router blocks all DNS traffic that isn't from what I set in DHCP to prevent devices from circumventing DNS Filtering.

Bad performance on The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 on an RTX 4070 super
This is probably just the classic Nvidia driver update that breaks things situation. Happens all the time. I stopped leaving proton github issue threads as subscribed because I got tired of the X driver fixes Y and A driver breaks B posts constantly sending me emails.
rebase back to the update before that driver update. Then you will need to rebase back to stable when a new driver comes out to check if issue is fixed.
Best advice is to ditch Nvidia for AMD or Intel if you are serious about Linux gaming at your first convenience. This is by no means the first time and by no means will be the last time this will happen to you. Also Intel and AMD perform better in Linux than they do in Windows. Not the case with Nvidia.
7800XT cards are fairly easy to buy right now and will get you some more raster performance and loose some ray tracing performance. Also selling the 4070 super on ebay will make you maybe about $100 even buying a new 7800xt. Just a thought.

Installing wifi drivers
Any device that does not have drivers build into the official kernel is a bad device. Basically when buying hardware for Linux you simply look online for someone that has tried that device and see what the experience is. My 10gbe PCI card for example just works out of the box. On Windows however I need to download the drivers before it works.

Rebooted 3 times and it is working. Think the Filesystem arguments was the issue.

Weird thing is that if I remove the library it is added back on the second reboot automatically.

Steam forgets games installed to secondary HDD after reboot
I formatted it through the Steam UI. And when I reboot and the games are forgotten it still is mounted and says there is a bunch of non-steam games space used. If I simply go to one of the games I know is installed on the hard drive and try to Install it on the hard drive. It will simply verify the contents that is already there.

Ptyxis text looks bad the darker the background is.
It seems to apply to how black the background of the terminal is. The darker it is the worse it looks.

VRR doesn’t work anymore
I'll need to check when I get home but only a couple of months ago VRR was fixed for me across the board with Gamescope HDR vrr fixes on both my systems so would be disappointing if it broke again. Things seemed to be working but didn't specifically bring up the vrr fps monitor to make sure when I upgraded to f41.

VRR doesn’t work anymore
I have had to set my 6900xt memory clock to the max all the time to fix that gitlab issue. Have had to do this since upgrading to my Samsung G95C. A lot of various AMD DRM issues about it. Been an issue for a while.

Bazzite 41 broke the hdmi audio in game mode
Just updated my system with 6900XT connected to LG C1 over HDMI, that is connected to Denon AVR over HDMI EARC, and still have HDMI audio and my service to switch it to 5.1 surround still works as well.

You need to run the game in gamescope. Either on the deck version of bazzite or add the gamescope commands to launch options in steam. HDR Implementation is not finished yet outside of gamescope.

I just tested VRR on my HTPC. 4K@120hz HDR VRR now works. Even over HDMI 2.0
HDMI Forum: No HDMI 2.1 for open source drivers
Linux: Hold my beer
Obviously working over Display Stream Compression and not 4:4:4 Chroma subsampling but still, not complaining.
