Shoes for hospital office job
@bathtub footwear? i've got 2 pairs of leather shoes i rotate. 1 dark brown wingtip (grantstone) 1 lighter brown blucher (alden). The aldens are my own personal example of buying something passable to get started and once they were spent, I went on ebay and got a pair of aldens in great condition for $150. I work in financial services (not east coast) and guys are really into these leather sneaker hybrid things, which look silly to me, or they wear something similar to what you picked out. The rest of my office attire most days will be brown khakis or dark jeans with various buttondown collar shirts. It's just the stuff that's easy to put on and look fine without effort but I've also got a variety of other things I sprinkle in such as corduroy, jackets, overshirts, sweaters, hawaiian, boots, watches, belts etc.

Shoes for hospital office job
Brown/mahogany for these Clarks may be more casual then black to get some nonwork usage too. Since the pandemic I've found business casual to be even more casual at my office and I suspect that's a trend. If you can rock your new balances for a bit and get a feel for the effort you want to put into your office style then you may find yourself looking for different shoes than those clarks in a few months.

Ironing / Steaming
i too am lazy. if you have low humidity hang then dry is a nice lazy option. as an example of how lazy i am, last week i took a wrinkled shirt, twirled it in the shower, and hung it to dry overnight. looked fine the next day.

how to slow down when buying clothes?
This is a great thread (stares into closet of clothes that i dont wear enough). I dont have much more to contribute. One thing that's been fun for me when exploring my fashion is setting very honed in ebay searches for the random cool pieces I see and often picking them up later at much reduced prices. Usually I'll try to buy at that time if I'm still excited for the item and I havent purchased anything for a while. Takes some of the sting out of buying new and not wearing enough.
