Unity Mod Manager doesn't install despite reporting successful install
Hi Everyone,
I'm attempting to install Unity Mod Manager (https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/21) for use with Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. According to the program author and at least a few protondb users, this program should function in Linux with a Proton version of Pathfinder. It even has install instructions for Linux systems on the Nexus page, but I am unable to open a single mod or even the mod manager itself within Wrath. Here are the details:
I'm running on an AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X with a Radeon RX 6750 XT in Bazzite 41 (FROM Fedora Silverblue), 64-bit.
Stable (F41.20250317)
GNOME Version 47
Wayland
Linux 6.13.6-103.bazzite.fc41.x86_64
First, I followed the instructions on Nexusmods. I downloaded and installed
mono
using BoxBuddy (Ubuntu distrobox). Then I ran mono UnityModManager.exe
. This worked and I was able to find the install location for Pathfinder (/home/booper/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Pathfinder Second Adventure
).
I selected the Assembly
installation method, installed the Mod Manager itself, and I installed Toy Box
(https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderwrathoftherighteous/mods/8) using the manager. I received notifications in the log that all of the installs were successful. Then I ran Pathfinder, attempted to use CTRL+F10 inside a game to open the UMM interface and... nothing. The game ran fine, but no mods appeared.
So then I tried pointing to a symlink instead of the location shared above. The instructions insisted this was necessary, so I figured I'd just missed a step. UMM reported a successful install of both itself and Toy Box... I ran the game, tried to open the mod and nothing happened.
I then looked up whether other people had tried a different install method. Several people in a Reddit thread had success installing the Mod Manager as non-Steam game using Proton Experimental. Tried that. Again, UMM reports a successful install, but CTRL+F10 doesn't work in game.

inconsistent Steam crash after quitting game
Hi All,
Sorry to resurrect something I thought was solved, but there's definitely something funky going on whenever I play a Steam game for ~20 or more minutes and then quit. Here are my specs:
Hardware Information:
Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X × 12
Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 6750 XT
Firmware Version: H.C0 (MSI Pro B550M-VC Wifi MB)
OS Name: Bazzite 41 (FROM Fedora Silverblue)
OS Build: Stable (F41.20250301)
OS Type: 64-bit
GNOME Version: 47
Windowing System: Wayland
Kernel Version: Linux 6.13.5-102.bazzite.fc41.x86_64
Whenever I quit a game (Elden Ring, MH Rise most recently), I'm unable to access the Steam store, my library, or any other part of Steam afterward. The Steam icon still appears in my system tray (I'm using GNOME), but the only thing I can do is click on it and select quit, then restart Steam. All of the other options do nothing.
But once I restart, everything works fine until I quit a game again. Managed to get a log from the terminal this time, which I've attached. I'm thinking this is the relevant bit:
Found an Arch-related thread that suggests something is up with xdg-desktop-portal, but I have no idea what to make of it in connection with Bazzite: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=286683
Appreciate any help y'all can provide. Thank you!

Steam freezes after quitting a game
Hi Everyone,
Bazzite runs almost flawlessly on my desktop PC, but I keep running into a strange bug (?) where Steam will freeze after I quit playing a game. The icon still appears for me in my system tray (I'm in GNOME, so in the area at the top right of the screen) and I can still click on that icon to see various options (recently played games, Store, Library, Community, etc.). But if I try to bring up my library or go to the store, nothing happens. The only thing I can do is exit Steam... and then restart it, at which point everything works as intended.
Here are my system stats:
Hardware Information:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X × 12
- Graphics: AMD Radeon™ RX 6750 XT
- Firmware Version: H.C0 (MSI Pro B550M-VC Wifi MB)
- OS Name: Bazzite 41 (FROM Fedora Silverblue)
- OS Build: Stable (F41.20250301)
- OS Type: 64-bit
- GNOME Version: 47
- Windowing System: Wayland
- Kernel Version: Linux 6.13.5-102.bazzite.fc41.x86_64
A couple of things I've noted since I started experiencing this a few weeks ago:
1. I have Steam start when I boot my computer up. But if I run Steam from the terminal instead (so close it, then run it from a terminal with 'steam'), this problem doesn't seem to happen as consistently.
2. This doesn't happen consistently. If I play for just a few minutes and then quit out of a game, Steam runs as normal.
3. I've noticed that I get a message about my Caffeine Timer being disabled upon exiting these games. No idea if there's a connection, but I do know there's an option to enable Caffeine for any full screen app. Relevant?
4. Elden Ring, Stellaris, and Monster Hunter Rise are the games I've been playing recently, all at full screen. I've tried borderless full screen too, same outcome.
I'll post some logs that might be relevant. Let me know if you need more. Thanks!

Bluetooth on startup in Bazzite desktop
Hello! I've just installed Bazzite 41 using the GNOME 47.1 desktop as my sole desktop on a brand new computer. I'm running a Ryzen 5 5600x with an RX 6750xt graphics card on an MSI PRO B550M-VC WiFi motherboard, which has onboard Bluetooth functionality. I've got 32 GB RAM and a 2 TB harddrive.
The system runs great, but I have one small problem: I use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and really need that wireless functionality due to how my office is setup. I was able to use a wired keyboard and bluetoothctl to connect my mouse (a Logitech MX Master) and then, from there, I was able to connect my Bluetooth keyboard (a Logitech MX Mechanical M) using the interface in the top right corner of the Bazzite interface. All seemed well!
But when I reboot, I have to use a wired keyboard to enter my password becaue Bluetooth isn't enabled at startup. And unfortunately I can't find a way to edit my Bluetooth settings so that
AutoEnable = True
. In Linux Mint, I would go the etc/bluetooth/main.conf and edit the file with vim, but I can't do that in this case and I can't find anywhere in the settings that would do the same thing for me. Is this possible? Is there another to enable Bluetooth at startup? Any and all help is much appreciated. Thank you!6 replies
