Unity Mod Manager doesn't install despite reporting successful install

Hi Everyone, I'm attempting to install Unity Mod Manager (https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/21) for use with Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. According to the program author and at least a few protondb users, this program should function in Linux with a Proton version of Pathfinder. It even has install instructions for Linux systems on the Nexus page, but I am unable to open a single mod or even the mod manager itself within Wrath. Here are the details: I'm running on an AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600X with a Radeon RX 6750 XT in Bazzite 41 (FROM Fedora Silverblue), 64-bit. Stable (F41.20250317) GNOME Version 47 Wayland Linux 6.13.6-103.bazzite.fc41.x86_64 First, I followed the instructions on Nexusmods. I downloaded and installed mono using BoxBuddy (Ubuntu distrobox). Then I ran mono UnityModManager.exe. This worked and I was able to find the install location for Pathfinder (/home/booper/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Pathfinder Second Adventure). I selected the Assembly installation method, installed the Mod Manager itself, and I installed Toy Box (https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderwrathoftherighteous/mods/8) using the manager. I received notifications in the log that all of the installs were successful. Then I ran Pathfinder, attempted to use CTRL+F10 inside a game to open the UMM interface and... nothing. The game ran fine, but no mods appeared. So then I tried pointing to a symlink instead of the location shared above. The instructions insisted this was necessary, so I figured I'd just missed a step. UMM reported a successful install of both itself and Toy Box... I ran the game, tried to open the mod and nothing happened. I then looked up whether other people had tried a different install method. Several people in a Reddit thread had success installing the Mod Manager as non-Steam game using Proton Experimental. Tried that. Again, UMM reports a successful install, but CTRL+F10 doesn't work in game. (continued in reply)

I then found yet another thread that suggested I launch the game with WINEDLLOVERRIDES=winhttp.dll=n,b' %command% because this was required for a lot of Linux mods. I tried this with every variation of install mentioned above. No Dice. Out of desperation, I tried installing UMM using the DoorstopProxy method described in the instruction set for Windows. That's when I realized the log only reported copying winhttp.dll to the Pathfinder directory using the Doorstop method. The Assembly method did not. Strangely, the Doorstop install worked to the point that I was able to open UMM and install mods. Again, no reported errors. So I retried both the Mono and the non-Steam game installation methods using DoorstopProxy. No dice. In each case, I can get UMM to run, I can install mods using UMM, and I can confirm the files have actually been copied to a series of folders within /home/booper/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Pathfinder Second Adventure. I receive no errors and I have no problem launching the game... but nothing at all happens once I'm in game. I can't open the Mod Manager using CTRL+F10 and I can't get any other kind of mod to load at all. One last bit of info: after install, several people report having a Params.xml file located inside /home/booper/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Pathfinder Second Adventure/Wrath_Data/Managed/UnityModManager. I've never found that xml file installed anywhere. I'm under the impression that the install is actually failing each time, but the UMM isn't reporting why. Nothing crashes, nothing breaks, but the mods don't work as a result and without knowing why, I'm feeling a bit stuck. Very curious to know if anyone can help.
