yeah - I'm aware of the history, but I'm on a multi year contract. Might have to look around to find a better VPN sooner rather than later

ugh - looks like PIA has issues with openssl 3.3.1, and that is where the issue lies. I was able to grab their script to manually build connections on demand from their GH page, so this can be closed - thanks for coming along for the ride with me.

I think the server side is fine - same ovpn file works on a Fedora laptop. If I use networkmanager-openconnect, that is able to create the TUN device.

I'm trying to run it manuall using openvpn --config <filename.ovpn>, and that is failing on a TLS handshake. I'll dig a little deeper later - I gotta take a break from all this.

I did install networkmanager-openvpn, and I can import the .ovpn file, but when I try to connect, I get an immediate error "Activation of network connection failed" journalctl | grep openvpn shows "nm-openvpn not found"

device did not show up
I had the same issue - downloaded the iso again (the one with disk encryption available and reinstalled. No issues with the newer iso.
