Tailoring on a Flight Jacket?
Unfortunately, I don't really have something that already fits well. Kind of a catch-22. I need to know my measurements to get something that fits well, but I can't measure something that fits well to get my measurements. So I'm just going off the measurements I was able to get with my wife, but how that actually aligns to the chart is a bit puzzling.
Not sure why they would recommend the size 40 when the chest is a good 13 cm (5 inches plus) bigger. Based on my measurements (particularly chest and shoulder) I would have thought the 36 or 38, at most.

I’m in the States, actually. The South. I know the metric measurements was probably misleading, I just find them easier/more clear to work with.

Unstructured jacket vs Sports Coat: when to wear one or the other?
Very helpful, thank you. I'm in the (U.S.) South. We obviously get the extreme heat (and humidity), but we also tend to get some extreme cold during the winter as well. I'm doing some info-gathering before I start building a small but flexible assortment of jackets for weather and occasion.
