Fit check on raglan coat (balmacaan)?
I’m able to return it. Any recommendations on coats like mine that are longer? (At least to look at)

Fit check on raglan coat (balmacaan)?
These coats are probably normal sized, it’s just the models are tall

I see. I guess it’s car coat length, which might look dated. It’s hard to find pictures of how coats should look when all the models are like:

Do local tailors in the US actually do bespoke?
TLDR: guy buys suit based on YT review videos and google reviews and the fabric is switched out to poly

Though I’m gonna be honest. I didn’t even know MTM and Bespoke weren’t recommended until I started lurking here. The internet is not helpful for that sort of thing.

Oof. I guess I never thought of shades of navy. Hopefully it’s still useable even if it’s medium blue or whatever

That’s actually interesting. I probably live in a city that’s pretty behind on these things. It’s just people i know who have traveled. And the internet which is not always a wellspring of good advice. Reddit is the worst it’s ever been. YouTube is full of shills. It’s tough out here. But yeah it’s probably just where I live.

Yeah from what I read, you are just talking with a salesperson if you are an English speaker. And they take your measurements once and that’s it. So basically just SuitSupply but cheaper and riskier. I’m surprised no one talks about this, but I guess the businesses don’t want to lose business.

I’ve never actually tried MTM for a suit but I can see it. I’m sure some people want to “feature-max” their suit. Most luxurious fabric and whatever.

Yeah no doubt that SE Asia has good tailors and probably bespoke ones. But the “suit tourism” makes me suspicious. Maybe part of it is just hearing how it goes through a salesperson who translates all the details. In theory, it works the same as a regular tailor shop but cheaper. But maybe the nuance of MTM vs Bespoke isn’t carried through.

Well I guess I already know the answer to that question. It just goes against everything you hear from people who travel. And everything you read online.

Now I'm starting to hear more people talk about going to Asia (particularly SE Asia) to get "bespoke suits" where they "make them in 3 days" for "$200 each" or something crazy. I had a suspicion that this was just MTM, but I didn't want to start an argument. What do you think?
