i want to cop a beams plus harris tweed balmacaan coat
i wear L in mostly everything
but the pit - to - pit looks to be 22.6 inches
which could be too snug
does anyone have this coat and know if it runs small? should i size up?
XL is pit-to-pit 24 inches. it could work, but could be big everywhere else

Measure the pit of something you like that fits how you like, letter sizes are meaningless
fwiw balmacaans are usually more forgiving size wise, so I would go with the bigger size if you're not sure.
Yeah I measured my allsaints overcoat and it came in at 23.5 ish, that's probably the sweet spot, I guess XL is the better call here
Going a bit oversized on a balmacaan isn't terrible, it's a looser fit with raglan sleeves so it'll actually look quite natural a bit oversized
more fabric usually gives balmacaans some sexy drape too since the materials are nice and heavy. itll look great
I oversized by a similar amount for mine. good drape, extra length, and more forgiving for layering

FWIW I’ve tried a few of these on and usually have to size up one or two sizes for the right fit!
Getting a balmacaan in a tweed like this won't be that hard from another maker fwiw.
yea this coat runs v small. I’d prob need a Xxxl or something for a for the fit I’d like for a usual xl, and even then itd be a little short
