I'm trying to send the fuel and water levels to Saillogger. They don't seem to have the ability to change the units.

Maybe I'm not letting it sit there long enough.

ZigBee Devices
Thanks for the pointers everyone. I need to do some reading and figure a path out. I'm hoping to be able to run it on the same Pi as Signalk and maybe getting the devices to show up in the data browser. We'll see. 😂

smoothing of apparent wind data
The ability to dampen data would be very helpful for improving the readability. I believe B&G do up to 10 seconds in 1 second intervals. This uses a moving average to display the data. Helps a lot in a pitching sea state.

This looks good. For the exhaust temp, I was planning on attaching a one wire sensor to the exhaust elbow with a hose clamp.

Lots of good information. As far as skill 😂 I'm am an engineer so I always think I know everything 😎. I can figure python out and I do understand basic electronics but I'm much better at fixing cabinets, resplicing halyards, changing oil, and other boat jobs so I wouldn't mind a more off the shelf solution. I would add analog gauges but we don't easily have room for them. I am a little concerned about calibrating the readings without having the analog gauges. I did that for our fuel and water tanks but that was much easier because I did it while filling them. I could possibly install the analog gauges at the generator I suppose.

It worked after a reboot. It's been over six months of uptime so it was probably due.

Weird. It's a standard follow the steps install and the network is working fine. 🤷🏻‍♂️. The system is working without any issues so I may just leave it alone and not update it.

"exhaust temperature is getting higher than normal so I should check for clogged raw water inlet or impeller issues". I would much rather deal with that before the generator shuts down when we are in the middle of charging, cooking, etc.

It shuts off with a generic error that doesn't say why it shut off. Additionally, just like tracking anything, it can help see trends so I can actually address an issue before it becomes a problem.

All of the sensors are actually just switches. They are either NO or NC and simply trip the fuel solenoid if they change. There are no gauges of any kind for the generator.
