Yea, that works. And i received this from Emin (complementary author) from his Patron:
Hello. I don't think I can fix that problem as DH renders things differently to the vanilla terrain. It's much more complicated than just being a color issue unfortunately. But I think you might want to give the "Shadow Sample Quality" setting a try. Increasing it may make it more consistent.
