The problem may actually be in the files. I deleted the game on steam and there was over 10GB of data left in the folder. I also manually deleted the remaining files. I'll get back to you after downloading.

Could it be that the old SMM cached something? I used old SMM then SMM beta and now 3.0.0

Yes. Should I remove the complete FactoryGame folder (C:\Users...\AppData\Local\FactoryGame)? The downgraded version was on different drive.

TUTORIAL: how to downgrade to update 8 (assuming you want to still do mods) WORKS FOR STEAM ONLY.
Hello! I would like to ask for help. my U8 downgrade version won't load mods. My steps: 1. download_depot 526870 526871 3783838377491884235 2. backup from 1.0 3. insert depot files into the backup (except manifest files) 4. test start (OK starts U8) 5. Manual installation of SML 3.7.0 in the FactoryGames/Mods folder (I have created the Mods folder) 6. test start (NOK starts U8, but does not indicate SML) I also tried with SMM v3.0.0 beta. It found my mods, I tried to turn off the mods with the Mods off and Mods On buttons and then turn them on again. I always start the game with a shortcut with the -nosteamclient argument. I also tried just starting the depot and installing SML in it (similar to step 5), but I didn't succeed either. Any ideas what could be the problem? UPDATE stable SMM fix this issue.
