Hmmmm yea that’s fair. I have a lot of brown/black derbies that have been handed down and thrited throughout the years. I wear them mainly for work (I have to usually dress business casual/formal). So I do like those kinds of shoes, I just don’t need more of them and I also don’t think they generally pair well with that I have when I want to dress casually.
I do want to work on expanding out my boot collection though, where I’m trying to get pairs that look good/appropriate in formal dress but I can also dress down. I don’t want to rush into buying a bunch of new boots and I want to buy quality ones, so I’m not in a rush expanding that out. I just got a ordered a new pair so not really looking to get another anytime soon.
Which is why my interest is piqued with leather sneakers since they align with the goals of wanting something a touch dressier but still ultimately casual. The price points for many of them, especially second hand, are reasonable for me to at least consider. Whereas with the boots I think I probably get a new pair once every other year or something. Since I just got the new boots, not really planning to pick up this sneakers right now, but while the juices are flowing I’d like to see what’s out there

I actually really hate the white gum exterior all these dress leather sneakers use tbh, I was moreso interested in shoe styles that use leather outside of typical formal wear archetypes like boots, oxfords, derbies, etc. I guess GATs and other heritage shoes do fall more in line with what I was thinking, but I wasn’t exactly wanting/needing them, since I do have those kinds sneakers already in my wardrobe.

styling a black cord sport coat
Well I imagine this would be a great layering piece to top off almost any sort of business casual fit you’re planning to wear. It looks more charcoal than black, so it pairs rather well with about anything in the business casual realm.

I feel like if you’re not leaning into the loudness of the pants then it looks like a fish out of water. A lot of your focus goes to the pants and while I think they’re a cool pair, I think you want viewers eyes’ to look at your face and torso. Graphic tees, punk-esque leather jackets, jackets with patches and other decorative flourishes, and distressed clothing should probably be the main pairing with these pants and I’d say you would rock these fits well.
Your shirts that are similarly loud do not have this issues because they’re drawing focus towards your upper body and they feel like an added layer of spice than a main ingredient.

I personally really like this fit. These pants in particular are very “loud” to me so I actually dislike the fits that feature these pants where you pair them with solid color pieces.

Help with denim jacket sizing
Boxy, cropped denim jackets are better made by brands other than levis imo anyway and such a jacket would be probably intentionally built so. Whereas a Levis trucker I imagine is made to fit more like a regular jacket.

Ahhhh ok. Perhaps I’ll look at their source material before getting anything from them then. They have some designs that piqued my interest but they also didn’t wholly original, otherwise I felt there would be more buzz around them lol

How to pose for photos other people are taking of you?
I’m not sure if I can post outside links but photographer david suh has a video on posing on youtube in which he talks about “sizzling” when you take the photo. I’d recommend watching the entire thing and it personally has changed how I view taking pictures altogether
