Sorry for the delayed answer. It's actually dismantling then, but it has some quirks I can't exactly pin down. It seems to work fine if the "f" tool is selected and pointed at some of the buildings.

My fault here. It seems the filter only get refreshed if you close and reopen the SMM.

how do I know if I have mods enabled?
In the lounge (before you load or start a game) there will be a "Mods" option to your left. Click it. If there are mods enabled, they will show there.

Normally yes, updates are compatible with early (recent) saves. Some updates (either the game's or some mod's) may break savegame compatibility.
