thanks for all the suggestions!! i'll look at all of these. also, i probably should have been more clear, i'm looking for two different things. i'm looking for the rugged pants and, separately, some nicer dress pants. i've had trouble finding the dress pants i like the fit of in my size and budget.

I give them my measurements and they modify a preexisting pattern accordingly. I'm not strongly attached to mtm, i just don't hugely expect to find a rtw pair that will fit me

thank you! one more question, what would you call this style? the sort of relaxed fit high waisted slacks, with a tucked in sweater or turtleneck (maybe other types of shirt, but i'm not really a fan of it with the modern sort of default business casual white/powder blue dress shirt)

my budget isn't unlimited but not super small either. i would rather not spend like $300 on a pair of pants but $100 or maybe even $200 is fine as long is they're good quality and last

Thanks, I will look there. also, i just measured again to check, because i wanted to get across that my proportions are really unusual. my shoulder (overarm) measurement is 48", and underarm (chest) is 38", with a 30" waist. i guess this is technically an 8" drop but the 10" chest/shoulder difference i've found to be really problematic. i've found i usually don't see people with 36" legs until the 6'6"-6'8" range, same for arms. my torso is also very short, so a lot of stuff made for "tall people" is a bit too long for me

Granted, I don't have much experience with dressier clothes like this, but the experience I have had has been similar.

I've never found anything outside of American Tall with sleeves that are long enough (without being comically oversized in the torso)

I so wish you were right but 30/36 pants are basically impossible to find short of specialty retailers. Even unhemmed pants tend to come too short for me. My current wardrobe primarily comes from American Tall, but I'm not super happy with the quality, and their selection is pretty limited—mostly slim fit.
