looking for affordable mtm pants for shop work and everyday use

hey, i'm a college student in need of a new wardrobe, and i'd like to find a few different pairs of pants. my measurements are 30 waist/36 inseam, and i live in central north carolina. i would prefer to shop in person if possible but I know it's unlikely. also, i'm quite new to menswear and nicer clothes in general, so i'd love any other recommendations you have as well, this is all a bit overwhelming and i'm not sure where to start in terms of looking. first of all i'd like some more rugged ones i can use in the scene shop that can stand up to plenty of carpentry and paint, and won't be too hot. i'm not too much of a jeans guy, i'm not opposed to them but i would prefer something like carpenters pants or similar. i'd also like to find some slacks/chinos etc that i can wear when i'm not in the shop, hopefully a bit nicer and more comfortable. for some reference on what sort of things i like, i took a peek at a couple websites. these pants from scott fraser really stood out to me. not looking for anything super fancy, mostly looking for something classy and understated, i guess. i like jewel tones and natural colors, mostly, as well as black of course. i have struggled to find stuff with a high enough rise from more mainstream clothing stores, no idea if that will be a problem here. in terms of budget, i'd prefer to stay in the $100-$200 range (per pair of pants) as much as possible, although for something exceptional i might go a bit outside of that.

What does mtm mean to you?

I give them my measurements and they modify a preexisting pattern accordingly. I'm not strongly attached to mtm, i just don't hugely expect to find a rtw pair that will fit me

I think you're asking for too much (you've linked a dress pants, and also mentioned carpenter-like pants for a workshop?). You can't or won't get a pair of pants to fit all those situations. Plus you've just started getting into "fashion" and your budget is too low for in-person MTM. Affordable MTM tends to be online only or made in a developing country and shipped over. Where it's likley you'll have 1-2 attempts before getting the fit right. Stongly recommend you buy some off the rack (OTR) carpetner pants off Dickies or Carhart in a tall size. This should match your inseam. Then spend the rest on the more formal pants you've linked. Latter I can't give much info on. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

Yeah I’m certain that carhartt makes pants that match what you’re looking for

Yeah just get work pants for the shop and then look online for secondhand slacks that still have a lot of material to be let out in the hem You can occasionally find pants that were non-destructively hemmed and can be let out 36 inseam is challenging but not impossible

You could try canvas, which once they soften are quite nice. Or cavalry twill Those are both "rugged" fabrics that might go well in a shop

As someone in carpentry, you’re gonna want a separate pair of pants for that

thanks for all the suggestions!! i'll look at all of these. also, i probably should have been more clear, i'm looking for two different things. i'm looking for the rugged pants and, separately, some nicer dress pants. i've had trouble finding the dress pants i like the fit of in my size and budget. if that means i have to increase my budget that's entirely fair but i figured i'd check in before doing that
