Chrome won't remember window positions on launch in KDE
This appears to be a consequence of an intentional limitation of the Wayland protocol (applications can't be allowed to determine their positions because reasons) that Window Managers have to sort on their own. KDE currently lacks the functionality to address it, while GNOME has an extension that cheats it in https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/4736/smart-auto-move/

Running GPU via the onboard HDMI through iGPU
hence why I mentioned passthrough to a VM for it to actually do the work
i recall seeing someone around here whose setup is just VMs for whatever they want to do

you could potentially run a lightweight instance off the iGPU and passthrough the RX480 to a VM running the actual DE you want to use
