Running GPU via the onboard HDMI through iGPU
So I have the RX480 8GB which works fine, BUT all the ports are broken. So I am using it via the igpu, i5-7400.
So obviously game mode does not work because it only picks up the HD630 igpu
So was wondering if there is anyway around this in order to get linux to see the gpu?

Found the correct keywords now to search disc,.. I think
what I'm looking for a gpu passthrough? But all the stuff I see relateds to VMs,.. so not sure if it is relevant to my particular scenario
you could potentially run a lightweight instance off the iGPU and passthrough the RX480 to a VM running the actual DE you want to use
gpu passthrough is the wrong thing here. dont think linux has any way to use a gpu as a render card for everything while the display runs on the igpu
hence why I mentioned passthrough to a VM for it to actually do the work
i recall seeing someone around here whose setup is just VMs for whatever they want to do
I see,.. figured this would be a bit more difficult to do than on win11.
Regardless thanks for the input, guess I'll just wait for my new card.
