I mean you need to find for H then why would you take pt as x? And Chlorine is also a part of the compound and gives -6 charge so -2 from H also wont make sense. The H -ve rule in metal hydrides mostly occurs when it is just hydrogen and a metal. Please correct me if i'm wrong

Sir a similar explanation was given by our chem teacher, he said that an atom will not get exicited if the energy is higher or lower, it must be only -3.4 ev. He said that no excitation happens and all the energy is used to translate the atom
