Tunnel Dashboard is a bit odd
on the Route page it says "Add a new public hostname or private network. Then, select a tunnel to route the traffic."

Tunnel Dashboard is a bit odd
Yes I understand that, but the way it's presented in the Portal is just a bit odd.

Tunnel Dashboard is a bit odd
It feels like a large cognitive load, even though like, at the core, the various bits of tech is fairly straightforward to understand/imagine.

Tunnel Dashboard is a bit odd
For example, I want to provision N*M tunnels, N services, M users, and then configure the DNS for each. I feel like it'd be much easier to manage this if I was seeing it from a more DNS-oriented view. Otherwise I can have conflicts that are only apparent from a different scope.

Tunnel Dashboard is a bit odd
Further, the way hostnames are configured as a child resource of the tunnel, but poke DNS entries on the entire zone, means it's hard to really have fully visibility of tunnel-associated records when editting a single given tunnel.

Tunnel - no common encryption algorithm(s)
I looked to see if I could, but I think s3 deprecated that, quite a while ago.

Tunnel - no common encryption algorithm(s)
I need to proxy minio through and s3 clients expect to prepend the region as a subdomain

it would be soooo nice if this was presented to me when I added the public hostname

It sounds like you tried to put your GitLab on a second-level or deeper subdomain (i.e gitlab.internal.example.com) when the Universal SSL Cert (the one Cloudflare gives you for free) only covers first-level subdomains (like gitlab.example.com). You can get around this by purchasing Advanced Certificate Manager (ACM) and turning on Total TLS or issuing an Adv. Cert for that deeper subdomain, or just by moving your Gitlab to a 1st level subdomain like shown in the tutorial.

CloudFlare Tunnel - why is it so hard?
nice, that one worked for me. And the former probably failed because I was giving the tunnel name, but I guess you derive that frm the tunnel-specific JWT

CloudFlare Tunnel - why is it so hard?
I'm just not thrilled with being presented "run this command as root to start running some service". That's not how I manage Linux boxes.
