extrusion differences between near identical printers
Hi Folks,
I have two vcore 300 printers. One is vcore3.0, the other vcore3.1. Both printers have very much the same hardware - octopus pro, rapido 2 uhf, orbiter 2, same TC 0.4 nozzles from West 3D.
The 3.1 noticeably underextrudes as compared to the other when running the same gcode and same roll of plastic. I'd always expect slight differences between printers - but the difference in this case is quite noticeable on top surfaces and I need to find some way to address it.
Two questions:
1) Any suggestions as to why this might be the case? they are running different builds of 2.0.2 RatOS - could that be an issue?
2) any suggestions on how to work around this issue? I can bump up the extrusion factor in mainsail but that doesn't seem to be permanent. Is there an option in printer.cfg that might help?
Ideally I want to be able to push gcode from my slicer to either printer and not have to worry about targeting gcode to a specific printer.

Double check that one isn't set to be using a .6 nozzle?
good idea - just checked... nozzle diameter set to 0.4 in both configs
Make sure each printer.cfg is using the same includes? Common for people to select the wrong include and have the stepper under powered
good call! that was it - mistakenly had lgx-lite as the extruder in printer.cfg... must have looked at it a dozen times and never caught it...
