How often do you wash your clothes?
I’m just asking because I want to find out what is normal.
So basically asking about things like shirts, jeans, jumpers, trousers etc.

Underwear tshirts and socks: every-time
Shirts: every few times or when visibly dirty.
Pants: when they are dirty or smelly, usually every 6 wears or so (but I have kids so dirty happens fast)
Shirts/Tees after every wear, pants after a few wears, sweaters only if they get dirty (I always wear an undershirt)
Oh and knits also get a bit wash before being put in storage
I'm very sparing on washing my pants tbh, anything cotton is whenever I remember and anything wool is less than that (usually they don't even get washed, they go in with the dry cleaning at the end of sweater season)
Vibes based in general with the exception of underwear which gets washed with every wear.
I think I generally wash most button up shirts after every wear, but I'll stretch to two or three if I wear it over something else
I only wash my clothes when my cat tells me she's going to put me out with the litter and the trash if I don't.
My laundry basket is usually full by the end of the week, is that common for you guys too?
yeah but sometimes i can cram a week and a half’s worth in there
depends on a lot of things. i usually run a load of laundry on gym days because i don't like letting my dirty clothes sit. so any given week im doing 3-4 loads of laundry. I rotate thru my closet pretty regularly so its not like im washing the same casual clothes multiple times a week.
wool handwashed when needed (v rare) and denim/other pants stored on a hanging rack and washed every few wears
Underwear and socks: every time
Everything else: if it smells or is stained
Binder: Once per 1-2 weeks
Yeah one wash a week isn’t crazy
I do a lot of laundry but that’s mostly because I have kids. If it was just me I’d probably end up around one load a week. We wash the kids clothes every time because they are always filthy.
Interesting sounds like you got your hands full. How do you manage to dress nicely whilst (presumably) working and being a dad? Just a random question I had.
I’m not sure I dress that nice. But mostly I change as soon as I get home, which keeps work and kids clothes separate. I also do a lot of workwear which looks good a little grungy.
Nice, I think the rugged/natural look is a good one 👍
I think a lot of this is also personal. I work in an air conditioned building and I don’t sweat that much. So unless I spill coffee on myself I’m usually fine to rewear a shirt multiple times.
Hmm re wearing a shirt personally doesn’t feel great, I think wearing it up to twice is okay but doing it again and again. It’s normal to sweat so…
Body contacting tops and underwear: every wear
T shirts and shirts not body contacting: every two wears
Pants and sweaters: every couple of weeks (usually 10-12 wears) or when dirty
Jackets: only when dirty (almost never)
underwear: every wear
shirts: every few wears
jeans/sweaters: when I remember
Does anyone not wash their underwear after every wear? Kinda surprised to even see it worth mentioning
underwear including like underlayers, tights, etc
I haven’t worn my sweaters enough to even consider washing and I’d prefer to keep it that way. Everything else gets delicate cold/hung dry. 1 small load/week.
