Beacon Issues first layer after calibration
Fresh install. Printer just does not want to lay down a decent first layer.
Steps ive done.
-Calibrated the z calibration BEACON_RATOS_CALIBRATE BED_TEMP runs through it perfectly fine no issues. - then when finetunning i print a sqaure that has the height of the layer height. - Things that go wrong. outer lines of the squar one or 2 sides never stick if im closer to the bed or away from the bed does not matter. THe lines will stick but like I said the outer lines wont. Most of the time messing up the entire first layer. I cant go under 0 with z offset because I know thats not really possible with beacon. im doing everythign correctly so im baby stepping and saving with SAVE_Z_OFFSET.
For the rest yeah I have no idea kind of losing my mind over this. I though the automatic z offset calibration was sort of chill and simple. But I always have issues with it.
The weirdest thing is. I had a printer before that I installed the beacon on and did the calibration and i had to do barely anything of fine tuning to it. Now im just i dont know ???

My beacon doesn't give me any problems m so not sure how much help I can be. That said, first thing is to verify the hardware
Is the usb to beacon cable plugged in securely?
Are the heat sets in the fan duct for beacon fully pressed in?
Is the beacon board tight to the fan duct and looks level to the bed?
Is the usb cable at the pi plugged in securely and isn't being pulled on by cable ties?
Does the red led come on when the beacon gets close to the bed?
Actually, you can go to negative z offset, that will change the multiplier, not the hot end expansion coefficient calculated during beacon calibrate.
So don't be afraid to do it, it works just fine, just be carefull to not overdue it so that you don't damage the plate.
Also, tune flowrate if not done already, underextrusion might also be a cause for bad first layer
So its cool if I dont get the green text saying change exp[ension blablabla
Yup

yes to all ive checked everything already multiple times.
this is the mesh doesnt look out of the ordinary either
That's a good mesh. I'm leaning towards you having filament problems instead of beacon problems
Oh, and what nozzle are you using? Silver or black?
just a standard brass nozzle
0.6
filament im using is just simple black pla
Is the configurator set to 0.6?
ys
Too close ?
xD
thjs need to be a square
OKe
im getting a better adhesion
but still not great
the outer lines
dont stick
but the inner lines do
Undo the ptfe tube from the hotend, check that there's not excessive drag by pulling the filament
you mean the friction
in the tube
Yes
Got this now. See the weird outer line not adhering
Yeah that is weird.
With the center scraping, there'd be no should be enough squish to make the lines stick
What temp and filament are you using? Too low temp can also cause weird weird artifacts on the first layer
pla
205 temop
try bumping to 210-215 and seeing if that helps. Also a closer pic of your first layer would be helpful!
At this point i got it to print actual prints
and i got a succesful print
im going to leave it as is
awesome! glad you got it at least mostly sorted out lol
Yeah
must say
its a bitch
