When homing z the probe doesnt trigger and rams the hotend in the bed

I am finalising the my vcore3.1 ratos 2.1 rc3 with ebb42 and 8mm npn-no probe. At first my homing, ztilt and bed mesh went fine. After bed and hotend pid tuning I wanted to set the nozzle offset. From this point everytime I home z the hotend rams into the bed twisting the gantry. Ik looks like it doesnt trigger, but when I manually hold something iron to it when homing z it triggers. Also when I manual level the bed and check the endstops it also says its triggered. Cant understand why while homing this suddenly doesnt trigger anymore. Any ideas?

How are you verifying the z endstop is being triggered?

Did you use set kinematic center? That tells klipper you are in the exact center of all dimensions. So when you home, it thinks it already knows where it is and tries to ram the bed up more than it should

Optical, when I hold something iron to the probe the red light on the top will light up and 10 out of 10 times tried the same result. In the machine Tab below where the endstops are open or triggered. I have a npn no probe so when activated is should say triggered and it does when holding something iron to it. And of course I have leveled the bed manual so the nozzle is slight above the bed with a feeler plate between them. And after that I checked the endstops if it says triggered or not and optical also No have not used it. Cant remember I ever used that command. What also is strange is that before the tuning I have succesful homed xyz multiple times, even did a z tilt and bed mesh calibrate without problems. But i will try the set kinematic center in a few hours!

no, you don't want to use set kinematic center, as that will cause the issue! you are told to use it when first checking the stepper motors

Ok glad then that I havent done it yet haha. I always test my machines for stepper directions by setting all axis in the centers and then home everything axis by axis. So stepper direction isnt the problem

ok, how far above your nozzle if your probe?

2mm max

and if you manually move the z to where the bed is touching the nozzle, the Z registers as closed in mainsail?

I always test by putting a Spacer in between and then check the endstop Yes its triggered when i do that

can you upload your config?

Printer.cfg?

yes and ratos.cfg

In a few hours I can. Thnx for thinking with me I have found the issue! Its a combination of probe inaccuracy and offset from the nozzle was at the edge of beeing triggered or not. I probably have caused this when cleaning the nozzle, My 2mm offset became around 3mm this way and cause the triggering to be unreliable For the future I ordered a Beacon RevH low profile for my vcore 3.1 when i find the best duct for my eva3 toolhead Thanks for pointing me in the direction again for the probeoffset and taking your time to help people!
