The collar is killing me
yeah, the scrunched up collar really distracts from the whole thing.
Denim jacket with a beige layer under is a cool look overall (I did sth similar today) but yeah - the collar is not great and also to me personally it’s just a lot of jackets that feel like they aren’t really made for layering over.
Lovely jacket! Have you had a chance to try any wider bottoms yet? The boxiness of the jacket and the slim denim makes the fit feel a little unbalanced imo
I’d try a lighter weight midlayer
Honestly I like it but I think some cargo pants could go a bit better with it
Yeah, jacket over jacket only really works in specific use cases. Both of these feel very outer-layer-y to me.
I think an issue I have is that both jackets are almost the same length as well, which imo looks weird.
Jacket layering works when one is a bit more overcoat-y and longer and the other is a bit shorter and lighter.
For example a cropped trucker jacket could work with a big milsurp parka
Try layering your beige hoodie instead
Not the collar again :why_dissolve:
I did have someone tell me about the collar so that got sorted quickly tho
🤔 I've got a pair of 501s that I could try for this (2, actually)
But, how could I make a fit with slim pants work? I've got a fair few of those
For slim pants i’d say ditch the mid-layer and go for a simple white or black tee either cropped or tucked
i genuinely dont think ive seen double jacket layering look good but id be happy to be proven wrong. IMO it looks too affected to work.
(on anyone, sam, not just here)
I think it’ll be good to get into the habit of checking yourself in the mirror before heading out
IMO something like this can work - I like it
i didnt see the vision before but yeah I fw this, ty!
I feel like the jackets need to be more different
nah that one sucks
lmao it's just, the first one feels like the denim is being used as an overshirt, and the weight between the two is significantly different. This one, and others I've seen, fail to make that differentiation imo
Cropped and long can work imo.
And tbh layering a blazer under a coat technically isn’t so different - so that can maybe be emulated casually as well
yeah like leo said too, the length here is paramount to my eye. the plaid + denim above ends almost at the exact same spot, unbalanced everything
You’re probably right.
I think this works so well because two very different weight/style of jacket
yeah :bloberm:
I think this also works because the visual weight of the top half fits with the bottom, whereas Sam's two coats add a lot of bulk which don't necessarily ease into the slimmer bottoms.
This whips
So I've made a few changes here
Much better
Is the flannel a separate layer or lining the denim jacket
It's lining the denim jacket
Try letting the hood out of the jacket
I wore something very similar yesterday, except my denim jacket was a far shorter Storm Rider under a longer buffalo plaid CPO jacket.
Ok 🤔
not having a mid layer does limit my choices for keeping warm a fair bit
although i can probably get away with a thermal shirt as a base layer & no one would really notice
looks decent!
Good stuff chief keep going 💪
:linkYeah:
Could I have a graphic white tee for this fit?
if its good yes
YAAS love it
