VAOC calibration gives error: Move out of range
Hello,
Calibration of VAOC dos always give an "Move out of range: 86.941 661.862 39.000 [0.000]" erorr. Tried to follow the commission guide but this porcedure doesn't work any suggestions how to get IDEX working?

In addition sometimes i get the following error if I try to calibrate z:
Error evaluating 'gcode_macro _VAOC_ENSURE_CONTROL_POINT_WITHIN_EXPECTED_CAMERA_POS:gcode': gcode.CommandError: VAOC x-control coordinate is set to 245.178 but is expected to be within 5mm of 212.500. Please run '_VAOC_RESET' to roll back to default values.
or also :
Error during homing move: Move out of range: 250.022 522.491 -7.000 [0.000]
Hast some one an idea what's the problem?
im having the same problem, did u find a solution?
Likewise, I have also run into the same issue. The only thing I could find searching for it in the discord channel was https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/937654723727745046/1300965554495946772
Same issue - Infuriating!
No solution found until now.
Tried this several times doesn't work. I get the errors from post 2 and 3
please share the debug.zip file
you ahve most likely pasted the code to the wrong position
you havent followed the instructions
you havent copy and pasted the complete result into the printer.cfg
you need to copy and paste the complete result of the command to the last position in the printer.cfg
Ok then I hav eto try it again.
@Helge Keck I followed your instruction but when I try to do the Z- calibartion I get this error:
Error during homing move: Move out of range: 248.518 524.174 -7.000 [0.000]
and
Error evaluating 'gcode_macro _VAOC_ENSURE_TOOLHEAD_WITHIN_CONTROL_POINT:gcode': gcode.CommandError: Unexpected x-coordinate detected, VAOC aborted. Expected 211.018 but got 248.518.
change this to -7
Thx now it seems to be calibrated!
@Helge Keck but now i get this error when trying to print:
Error evaluating 'gcode_macro START_PRINT:gcode': gcode.CommandError: Toolhead x-offset is too high for the available parking space. Calibrate your X and DC endstop positions and make sure you stay below 1mm.
But I did this minutes before?
please share your debug.zip file
there is something seriously wrong on your setup
if oyu have followed the new calibration this value should be below 1 mm
i see you havent followed the instructions at all
you need to copy and paste everything the new calibration prints out to the console after you make the calibration
I did fill in the other values where ther was already one thats why they are not all on at the same place
this is definitly not possible
this would mean your printer is 12mm shorter than others
but thats what the software gave me
there is something wrong on your setuo
please check your toolhead endstops if they are mounted correctly
12mm difference is just not possible in real life
either one of your toolheads is not correctly assembled, or you suffer from heavyily skewed gantryor your belts are completely off
left toolhead is -60 and right toolhead should be 560
there can be some difference, but not 12mm
you need to find the reason for that
also, guide says revert to default endstop positions
these are nto the default values
but this doesnt explain the big difference you see
change these two values to -60
and these two to 560
then run _VAOC_RESET
and retry the calibration
also, maybe its the photo, but it looks like the sensor isnt perpendicular to the rail
Same error.
The sensor is just a little bit not as is looks like on the picture
share again the debug.zip
you ahve exactly the same values as before in the printer, cfg file
thats not possible
you need to copy and paste the new values there
ok sorry didn't know i have to change them again
follow the guide form the link
do every step it says
Should i real just copy and past it as it is or overwrite the old values?
overwrite the old values
i mean remove the part from before and then copy and paste the new lines in there
to clarify the standard values should be kept in so there will be two times :
[dual_carriage]
position_max:
position_endstop:
you already have the standard values
we changed that before
I mean in the printer.cfg the there then will be two times the variable:
[dual_carriage]
position_max:
jast make what the guide says
run the commands and then copy and paste the result at the end of the printer .cfg
[dual_carriage]
position_max: 559.916
position_endstop: 559.916
[gcode_macro RatOS]
variable_bed_margin_x: [60.000, 59.916]
[gcode_macro _VAOC]
variable_expected_camera_x_position: 214.051
variable_expected_camera_y_position: 522.609
[gcode_macro T0]
variable_parking_position: -58.000
[gcode_macro T1]
variable_parking_position: 557.916
do not copy and paste it here, paste it in the printer.cfg file
I did this doesn't work again
share the debug-zip again
ok, your values look much more normal now, however, you ahve still a offset of 3mm
you have most likely a skewed gantry and/or uneven tensioned belts or different belt lengths
thats the only reason why you still have such a high x-offset
i recommedn to realign your gantry and check belt tension and length
before doing this calibration you need to make sure your motion system and your belt tuning is correct
assuming you have centered both nozzles exactly over the camera
also a wrong y rail alignment can cause this issue as well
so check all of the said points before continueing
ok, this is bad new thank you
no bad news, its just part of the build process
there is jsut something misaligned
its fixable
but your endstop positions and everything do look good now
so its just some tuning needed and it will work
if everything is well aligned your x-offset value should be close to 0mm
also try to wiggle on the X and DC endstops, maybe they are not mounted correctly
ok I will try these suggestions
i suggest to run _VAOC_RESET
then try to relaign the gantry, the belts and the y rails
after inut shaper tuning is successfull you make then the endstop calibration again
I tried the do input shaping before I have to disasamble the printer again which gives me another error:
Move out of range: -61.194 248.570 17.000 [0.000]
you need to make a _VAOC_RESET as a descirbed above
then making inout shaping and then redoing the endstop and vaoc thing
ok
but im also not able to move the T1 to anywhere with same error ist this because of the x offset which is to big?
its bc you didnt made the VAOC_RESET
vaoc reset sets the x offset to 0
