There's not really a best as that varies on so many different things, that being said this topic of the day post might be helpful: https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1229098846718660749/1229098846718660749
People recommend the Bronson ones a lot, but check the size guides to see if they'll work for you
Bronson mfg, front general store tees, uniqlo u are all common cheap recs, without knowing your specific budget
If you want to spend a bit more but still under $100, I'm a big fan of tezomeya shirts but they are quite natural looking and not your typical consistent bleached white color
$50-100 range definitely opens up more shirt options if you're willing to spend that much
>$100 I like Merz B and Iron Heart
i wouldnt mind spending around that much i guess, but just want to make sure there isnt a cheaper one thats better or something
vintage screenstars made in USA
Human made has excellent blanks as well
Anatomica
There are better options if you spend more, yes. I think $50-100 is really the range that can get you into a "nice" tee
I have some loopwheele white tees, they are all pretty close in being very nice
so i would pick based on the cut i like most at the nicer level
i dont think id want to spend more than $100, but if there are ones better than sunspel for cheaper I'd look at those
I've heard good things aboiut them
Better is kind of subjective ngl, it comes down to preference
What makes something “better” or “best” to you?
true
i want something thats bit slimmer as well, I don't like super boxy fits
Not to get meta here but this very much depends on what matters in a shirt to you. Like, the happiness I get from a plain old comfort colors is close enough to something much nicer that I would much rather direct that money towards a cool pair of pants or something. If getting really granular on the details of a t shirt makes you happy then go for it but if it’s just “I want the best below x price” I feel like that could be solved plenty well with “good enough”
vintage screenstars
thats a fair point lol
ty
they have a slightly higher neck than modern t-shirts, aren't expensive, made in USA great quality, are not really boxy
honestly goated
and on that same point if theres something about a nice tee that brings you joy it can be totally worth it, i have some pricy tees that i really love the cut or feel of and make me happy whenever i wear them. Its all about whats gonna make you happiest
just checked ebay you can find some for around 20 dollars
literally just had basically this written out, some people get really into the weeds and that brings them joy and that’s cool! repro guys can talk about this stuff for days
Kirkland Signature are my favorite
it's worth searching in #questions-and-advice in addition to the advice given as many have asked about slim fitting white shirts
i like the Kirkland tees but I don't wear plain tees that much, so i just need one that is decent; your needs may vary
Whitesville has my favorite tees at about $50 each. Merz b are standout as well but are super thick and something I really only take out during the colder months.
The iron snail on YouTube has a couple videos on tee shirts from a range of price points that would be a good place to see many of the options
As others have said the hard part of tee shirts is there is no universal best option. Just gotta see what out there. Is the right balance of price and happiness to you
I own sunspel. They are slightly overrated. Obviously good shirts but I find the quality of Son Of A Tailor to be better and cheaper. The heavier weight sunspels are ok but I don't really like the lightweight ones, but that's personal preference.
Honestly the difference between a Uniqlo supima and a Sunspel tee isn't that massive and unless you care a ton about basics, the latter is probably fine especially if you aren't rocking a giant budget
Other brands I've heard good things about: Asket, 3Sixteen, Banana Republic, Outlier (for their ultrafine merino)
There are also loopwheeled Tees if you are very rich from Merz B, orslow etc
also tried lady white, didn't like their cotton it was really itchy and short staple, even if loopwheeled or whatever
norse projects is good but the cotton isn't super fine if that's what you care about
Outlier merino is great ifyou want merino but not for a basic tee
also muji makes a banger heavyweight T shirt if you prefer roughish (non extra long staple) cotton
could be. I don't own one but it feels like it would be a great addition especially for travelling and stuff
It is I own 3 I just mean I think for this its overkill fot everyday
I love my whitevilles, they come in 2pack for 80 euros, not sure in freedom currency
