Chunky pre-generation
Hi, I was just wondering what should the "numberOfLodBuilderThreads" and "runTimeRatioForLodBuilderThreads" values be set to when pre-generating chunks using Chunky? I am playing on a NeoForge 1.21.1 dedicated server, and using the latest "Nightly" version of DH for 1.21.1 that I could find.

When using chunky, you should remove DH form the mods folder and add it back when you finish
That is the only method that works 100% of the time
If you willing to take a risk of holes in LODs you can keep DH in
The lower the CPU load/number of thread the less of an effect keeping DH will have, but also the smaller chance for corruption
However as of 2.2 the built in generator might be faster than chunky (I don’t think anyone has done any tests yet)
It did get a 35% speed increase
Can I pre-generate chunks server-side using the built in generator? I'm trying to make it so we have a decently sized world already pre-generated since we are also using Tectonic.
/server
Distant Generation doesn't work in multiplayer, meaning DH won't be able to generate LODs for chunks outside the vanilla render distance.
Instead, as you travel around the world, LODs will be generated for areas you've visited.
In the next update, DH 2.3, you will be able to add DH to your server granted it's running a compatible mod/plugin loader (Fabric, (Neo)Forge, Bukkit and their derivatives). This will allow the server to generate LODs and send them to the client, making distant generation possible on multiplayer.
If you wish to try 2.3 early, read everything in this thread: https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/1285883332768563284
Keep in mind that this build is still experimental, we do not encourage using it on large servers until further testing.
Using 2.3 yes
You can
I have already read everything in the "Server-side support" channel, and am using the 2.3 version of DH. Apparently the original message from the channel has been edited and the part about "numberOfLodBuilderThreads" and "runTimeRatioForLodBuilderThreads" was edited out. I guess that solves my question then, thank you very much for the help.
I edited that to prevent confusion
