Linda Farrow usually has some interesting collabs
i had a nice pair of $20 aviators and then they fell off the side of a boat
my only complaint is that i feel like most of the collabs are more linda farrow and less the brand showing
that's definitely true
it's just pure linda farrow DNA on all of them
:raisin:
we peaked at gentile monster x tekken
and its like, ooh i like these and the lens width is 54 or something
i should pick up a pair of gentle monsters but the collabs sell so quick
a lot of brands seem to be putting out Balenciaga inspired shades
I like sunglasses
If I didn't wear sunglasses with prescription lenses I would have probably have 15 pairs
I gave up and went back to contacts since none of my frames support prescrip lenses
cost wise I probably shouldve done lasik years ago
:xd:
Connection issues lol
none of my sunnies are prescription. i just wear contacts with them
cant imagine the costs of trying to get all of them with prescription in them
I wore contacts once up on a time but I see less well with them. I did very much enjoy it sunglass wise though
I had a pair of Loewe sunglasses given to me for my birthday. They're still at the prescription lens company because I've not coughed up £90 yet
I need big head sunglasses recommendations - the only ones I can wear are an old Steven Alan pair I have that happened to make a huge size variant. The width and temple length are always comically short for my face
you sent them in without intending to pay yet?
main rotation is these 3 right now
same, i have to get very large ones and then bend the frame and/or heat up the acetate to bend it outwards
whats your budget? jacques marie mage is the answer but also super super spenny
No, how it worked is you sent them in and they gave you a quote.
IIRC it started at £40
hmm thats strange. here you pay first then send it in
ah this didnt send, along with this but with orange lenses
sick rotation
fr
Probably sub $300-400 unfortunately, I have a bad track record of losing sunglasses and it would be irresponsible for me to spend more than that unless I get the croakies
In which case you neutralize the cool sunglasses effect completely
This has been my main sunglasses inspo for a hot minute
Loooove that shape
unironically love Balenciaga's villain shades
and their shades in general
new sunglasses are on my list of things to cop come spring/summer
i like my pair but not quite as much as i want to
I used to only rock saint laurent Dylan's as they were the perfect sunglasses for me
What i'd recommend for everyone is to try on sunglasses when you are on holiday and then just write down the name/model number and go on secondhand websites you can usually find them for way cheaper
unless its vintage or limited
i really wanna get these
are there specific secondhand websites? or just like grailed, depop, ebay?
probably depop or ebay. in europe we use vinted a lot
It’s kinda wild how no one really wears sunnies in waywt
Bc I think sunnies can make or break a fit
prescription v expensive is why i don't personally
Controversial opinion: Clip on sunglasses are really cool
However I tend not to wear them at all because it’s weird in a way I cannot quite explain
also in case anyone needs new brands to look for:
Hilton, Dunhill, Julius Tart, Native sons, Hakusan, Mr. Leight all make fantastic sunglasses in various price segments
hilton & dunhill vintage only ofcourse
I'd like these sunnies but I don't think they'll provide that much protection vs full sun
But they're really cute
ebay and grailed primarily. there's also the japanese market but pay attention to the arm length, since some Japanese frames have shorter arms
Adding to the list also a fan of Eyevan, Ahlem, Matsuda, Mykita, Yuichi Toyama
those are a beaut. always wished i could fit that style (cheekbones too wide to physically fit most T_T)
I have a few that offers very very little protection but always sacrifice for style lol
cant beat mykita for lack of protection
Haha I'd do that in Seattle, but not in Australia
Sun is serious shit down there 😭
i unironically love these but they are very much a design piece
I want a pair of cartier vertigo's but then i'd probably never wear them
dual use facewear/choker
I have a margiela collab pair that's like almost clear 😭
Before I misplaced them, these were my daily pair
thats a tragedy and my worry every time i wear mine out
what do we think of these
esp considering how absentminded I am
designer dark undereye circles
I put mine on top of my head or in my shirt collar when not wearing them
I do shirt collar
i keep dropping mine bc of this lmao
fireeeeee
every time i bend down and forget theyre there
so many scuffs
my favs are these JMM x Umit Benan Belize
I'd have more JMM but so spenny
happy i bought mine on ebay before the dupes hit the market
now i feel like its impossible to buy used without a big chance of them being fake

ive heard that the heaviness of the acetate can sometimes become uncomfortable when wearing jmms like these for a long time
whats your experience
they're def not the most comfortable
the temples are wide
and they're really heavy
not something i'd wear all day
if where you’re getting them from has the lens rating on the website, if you have a category 2 or 3 you’ll probably be fine regardless of whether the scale they’re using starts at 0 or 1
the visor in the thumbnail is absolutely crazy
hard as fuck
Good to know!
my current rotation (supreme, smith, matsuda)
Supreme sunglasses? :lookhaw:
I have one pair with prescription lenses that came free with my regular prescription glasses
If I get a new pair of glasses I might think about getting some fashionable frames as well. But in general I have not yet come around to consider glasses as fashion accessories properly
i’m hoping i don’t get to a point where i need glasses because i would be trying to get multiple frames worth of pairs for the vibes
i got like 3 different pairs of glasses bc i wanted to switch it out depending on outfit but just ended up wearing 1 all the time
I left a pair of Wayfarers on the Shinkansen :cryingsalute:
spending so much on a pair makes me super conscious about wearing them
yeah. there’s a reason i work in $30 or less sunglasses
we lose them aaaaaaaaall the time
cannot wrap my head around my coworkers who work in big ol oakleys or maui jims or ray-bans
I borrowed/stole these my my Dad a few years back. Very 70s
oh i love those
would love to grab a pair of these but i'm through being cool: https://markmothersbaugh.com/collections/eyewear/
