Elephant Foot on Vcore 4
Hi all,
I was hoping for a little advice on how to address elephant footing on my prints on my new Vcore 4. I'm not sure its new, I just think it hasn't matter much until my current model, which won't function with the fat lower layers.
I'm pretty much running with defaults. I've messed with cooling a bit on the PLA profile. I've been waiting for my IDEX kit, so I haven't really gone crazy with "making it my own."
But I've never dealt with Beacon before. I can't tell if this might be a z-offset issue causing an oversquished first layer?
I'm also new to OrcaSlicer. I tried doubling the default compensation, but it hasn't helped much. So now I'm leaning toward re-running my beacon calibrations. - Is there anything you'd do first before re-calibrating to eliminate other variables? (Again - new to Beacon) - Is there anything you would due prior or during beacon calibration to ensure optimal results that may correct this? - Am I missing something in OrcaSlicer that may be causing this? Thanks to the braintrust.

Is it just the first layer? The default settings in most slicers is a slightly wider first layer to help with bed adhesion along with the squish that could cause a wider first layer as well. If I am being lazy I just take a deburing tool to areas like this after the print. Otherwise you can play with the elephant foot compensation in Orca to try and help. https://github.com/SoftFever/OrcaSlicer/discussions/557 https://help.prusa3d.com/article/elephant-foot-compensation_114487

I'd like to see the elephant compensation act more like a chamfer. Ex: XY Elephant foot - .16 Z Elephant foot - .32

Thanks. I did apply elephant foot calibration and was able to print several of the project. I think it was because I hadn't updated to Helge's latest versions. Now I'm printing a calibration model, and the elephant's foot will complicate the measurements. I went through updating and recalibrating. I'm hoping the fix sticks.
Thanks for the information.
