RatOS does not support CAN. They have focused all of their effort on supporting USB instead for a number of reasons stated in discord. If you want to do CAN for anything you have to do it on your own.

To clarify, Rat-OS is just klipper in this case and klipper supports CAN. However, all the macros and extras that are built into Rat-OS are designed around USB connected MCUs and that is the part that doesn't support CAN. You are still free to use CAN but you are on your own and don't expect the Rat-OS killer features to work

The RatOS features like the macros and such should work for can davices,if the MCU is configured correctly. just the easy installation via the configurator is not possible

yes but you are on your own and have to do things manually. What do you want to use canbus instead of USB?

Sure, follow the standard klipper documentation for CAN

then it sounds like it was not a good USB hub. Go with a Waveshare branded one. I have had the Waveshare USB Hat running on my VC4 since June and its been running great just make sure to externally power what ever hub you use. The Pi does not have a strong 5v bus to power a lot of USB devices. That is where the waveshare hat works great as it will take the external power you feed the pi and use the same power input

Would this be it?

Any good quality USB hub that is externally powered should work fine. I went with the waveshare hat that just plugs on top of the pi and will use the external power for the pi to power it and the usb devices plugged into it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08S7F77W7

I dont know what input voltage the one you linked needs but if its not 5v or 24v you may need to use that little power transformer that comes with it and thats a pain.
