multiplayer DH not working properly
Lod chunks often unload after generating, or instantly when chunks load.

MC version: 1.20.1
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x

you are on multiplayer right?
so your cpu cant be working that hard that it is overwelmed, because it is not doing any generation
so did deleting the config file do anything? other that reset you to default settings?
cpu is like 15%
seems a bit better

if i get closer a few lods load in and when i go further away they go away again
that looks like you just havent been in that area long enough for all chunks to be saved. could that be the issue?
they only stay if i stay still for a while

do they have to stay loaded when generating all the lods?

i didnt had that problem in 1.6
there they stayed even when they were only loaded for a few seconds
maybe even less
a lot has changed since then, so maybe this worked differently back then

If you look at the F3 menu do you see any update propagation jobs and/or file handling jobs?
If either of those numbers are greater than 0 that means DH is still working on something in the background so stuff may not look correct yet.

yeah, i find it intresting the queue for the update does go above 100 even when i put waay more chunks in que by moving fast
If you’re flying over LODs DH has already generated it’ll skip them to reduce CPU use. DH tries to only process new/modified chunks.

yeah when putting cpu setting on aggresive problem gets significantly worse
btw on the side, is there a setting to change the way lods look? to fix this issue?

try increasing vertical quality in dh's settings
advanced, graphics, render quality
bit better on extreme, guessing it just skips glass

tried with mc 2.21 and joining the server with a mod that allouws me to join unsported server

That’s a video of it working correctly.
If you fly too fast it will take DH a few moments to catch up, so having empty spaces for a few seconds when first loading in an area is expected.
A bug would be you sitting still for a long time and the LODs never appearing.
Unless you see errors/warnings in the logs, no.

MC version shouldn’t matter. The LOD loading code is identical for all MC versions.

If increasing the file handler threads solves your problem then the missing LODs isn’t a bug. DH is just behind on creating the LODs needed for rendering.
