Gap between DH LODs and Loaded Chunks when using shaders
In a modpack I'm building, I've noticed that whenever I enable my shaders (Complementary Reimagined + Euphoria Patches) there is a weird faded gap between my loaded chunks and the DH LODs. When I have shaders off DH fills in the gaps but I have no idea what's causing the issue (still happens without Euphoria Patches)
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

your cpu is too overloaded to load new vanilla chunks
cap the framerate or reduce your vanilla render distance
I do have a few mods on server and client that deal with chunkloading so I was wondering if that might've had an effect
is this while moving?
my CPU usage isn't very high, and I could give more threads to chunkloading, I'm not sure if that would help though
no, when i stop moving it stays that way
what if you stand still for a long time
does changing render distance change it?
are there any settings to tune in shader?
appears in some cases there may be a DH problem too, but most the time disabling shaders will have DH fill in all the gaps
I'll see if it fills in
this is on a self-hosted server, so i am suspicious some performance-type mod for chunks is causing them to load weird
my framerate was already capped and turning it down does not seem to help
what's your vanilla render distance at
though it seems to only happen at a certain render distace, turning it down from 22 to 12 gets rid of it
what's the render distance on server?
the gap is much smaller on 16
let me check the server.properties one moment
i've seen this happen on complementary semi frequently
might be calculating the overdraw radius wrong
looks like 32?
yeah i was worried it was a shader issue since it only happens with the shaders on, but i couldn't figure out what might cause it among all the shader menus and settings. it still occurs even when you set it to 'potato' quality
as a sanity check, does this happen at 4 vanilla render distance
try changing DH's overdraw settings
and check if shader has anything to change as well
it doesn't happen at 12 or 4, its only around 14-15 that the gap starts to appear and gets bigger the larger you turn it up to an extent
sounds like a shader bug but try changing the overdraw value a bit like pshsh suggested
where in the settings could I find that?
somewherre in the shaderpack settings i reckon
for DH's overdraw?
i'd imagine so yeah
DH itself has an overdraw setting in advanced -> graphics -> advanced graphics but i think it's overridden by the current shaderpack
hmm, I went through all the shaders menus and turned a bunch of settings off, but I couldn't find anything that seemed to near overdraw settings
it does slightly change when i adjust the DH overdraw (0 vs 1) but its something with the shader causing it to fade out close to me
im not sure if it might be a certain mod or setting causing all my chunks to not load but still in that case DH should fill in the gaps as it does when I don't have shaders on
though when I do turn shaders off something I get this really fuzzy look
yea thats SSAO acting weird
restarting should fix it
i have no problems with complementary's overdraw btw
restarting my game? I've had this issue persist over multiple tests of server stuff so I'm a bit lost
no i mean the SSAO issue, that should go away when restarting. not the overdraw issue
ohh alright

I think it might be a combination of issues with chunks not all loading in for some reason (possibly due to other mods/settings) and the shaders not letting DH overdraw those chunks that should be loaded but arent

I think I figured out the issue! for some reason i still had the farsight mod installed, and that alongside other chunk/performance mods must've cause some weird issues with chunks that should be loaded not loading, but now that I turned it off i'm not seeing the gap everywhere, even on 20+ render distance
there's still the issue of the shader overdraw conflicting with DH but that's only when the chunks aren't loaded
thanks for all the help!!! ❤️
Not exactly I mean IDK if it is fixable
Shader scales the overdraw circle correctly, but the server RD starts limiting the vanilla chunks
