MCU Protocol error
This is frequently caused by running an older version of the
firmware on the MCU(s). Fix by recompiling and flashing the
firmware.
Your Klipper version is: v0.12.0-261-g248d3dbf-dirty
MCU(s) which should be updated:
mcu: Current version v0.12.0-261-g248d3dbf
rpi: Current version ?-20240528_040405-fv-az891-544
toolboard_t0: Current version v0.12.0-261-g248d3dbf
beacon: Current version Beacon 1.1.0
Up-to-date MCU(s):
<none>
Once the underlying issue is corrected, use the "RESTART"
command to reload the config and restart the host software.
Outdated Beacon firmware version 0.1.0, current version is 2.1.0.
Please run
install.sh
or update_firmware.py update all
to update to the latest version.
Using an outdated firmware version can result in instability or failures.
mcu 'beacon': Unknown command: beacon_contact_homeThis ratos 2.1? Have you gone to the machine tab and upgraded everything?
Have you tried following the instructions in the error message?
I'm having the exact same error installing 2.1. I did a clean install on my sdcard. I've tried updating the Octopus 1.1 via automatic and DFU in the setup and ended up with the same error. Re: following instructions....Are you referring to updating the firmware or was there something else? I'm not working on the beacon just yet because i thought updating the firmware was done via the plugin after I can get the MCU to boot properly. Any further thoughts?
No, that sounds like you're on the right track
There was another thread about it where miklschmidt said to run this script on the pi:
~/printer_data/config/RatOS/scripts/ratos-update.sh
I think I had to sudo
it, but I got the MCU to boot after running the script and reboot. Thought I would add this here to see if it helped @guesswhatsthisparlor. The post thread I mentioned is here: https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/1265727640216539156. Thanks everyone for all your help!Hey. The problem was that my beacon wasn't on, so it didn't recieve any updates and some files were corrupted
It has an on switch?
I don't know, I just know it wasn't blinking red
ah, so it wasn't powered
how did you get it to turn on
im having the same issue
It needs power. Grab a multimeter and see where it isn't getting voltage
