I want to Update RatOS v2.0.2 to v2.1.0 RC1
Do I need to pull the SD card and reflash it or is there another way?

At this time you need to reflash. We've been informed that once it is out of RC status then it will be an update, I personally could not wait and re-flashed, the features on the 2.1 RC are awesome.
Sweet, Thanks appreciate the response. I just upgraded my V-Core 3.1 300 to the new Toolhead V1.0 with Beacon H and CANBUS. I have 2.0.2 currently installed with everything working except beacon contact so, before I overwrite everything on the card, I figured I'd confirm.
RatOS does not support CANBUS from my understand and due to the limitations of CANBUS vs USB I doubt we will see it. Is there a reason you went down that route vs USB?
Also make sure you update everything after flashing to 2.1RC, there have been a bunch of updates and fixes
I'm using a BTT EBB-42 CAN v1.2 on my toolhead. Is that not a CAN board? I'm guessing you mean that it uses USB as opposed to CAN Hi and Low from the CAN connector eliminating the need for a CAN to USB board.
CAN isn't involved at all when used in RatOS, it's an ancient communication protocol developed for the automotive industry. BTT put that in the name for marketing reasons, after the CAN klipper craze.
So you are saying we CANnot use CAN π. USB with the toolboard has been great and just works. Looking forward though to a toolboard manufacture changing over to a small connector like the beacon uses instead of USB C and then screw terminals or something easier than the current big plug for power.
You CAN actually, it's just not worth the effort π
I want CAN and Pi5 support. Come on Mikkel you CAN do it! (Runs and hides)
And yeah the connectors need standardization, nitehawk and orbitool has settled on the XT30+2 connectors.
For everything that just uses regular usb 2.0 and 5v, the beacon or nozzle cam connectors are ideal imo
Beacon uses molex and 3do cams use JST-ZH (if i remember correctly)
It is a slick setup. I just donβt look forward to having to crimp those myself
No those are some tiny bastards
At some point, someone's gotta realize they can make a lot of money on precrimped cables in different lengths though π
The 3DO nozzle cam came with spares. I am like hell no. Using the cable as I bought it
3DO does already. Available in 0.5m increments
Oh sweet, didn't see that
But we're going to need smaller ones very soon
Did 2.5m for enclosure cam and 1.5m for nozzle cam. High temp really nice usb cables.
Nitehawk for example comes with an integrated hub
So you can connect the beacon or nozzle cam directly to the toolboard.

That one is a PITA to solder and make cables for though, but it's a thing.
They have one with connectors on the way.
They have 0.7m to 3.5 meter for nozzle and enclosure cables. That is what I want. USB on toolboard. Single clean cable in, hopefully 12v buck converter, a nice power cable plug and usb for beacon and nozzle cam. Sign me up.
Yeah they're awesome. They feel so nice too π
hopefully 12v buck converter, a nice power cable plug and usb for beacon and nozzle camIt's on the way π
I just need to play with my focus. Bought both nozzle and enclosure and they were not labeled so used nozzle on accident for enclosure and messed up the focus.
woopsie
Mine was not glued as they messed up the focus length so I got the unglued one. Just need to play with it a little more. The mount does not allow me to adjust focus when itβs attached so have to take it off focus it and put it back. Got it closer
I am liking Mobileraker. Its printing right now and moving fast so its a little rolling shutter effect
3.0 fps? :S
I am on cell service and I donβt think I had good connectivity back to the printer over my wireguard vpn.
aaaah that makes sense
Also the enclosure leaves a few things to be desired about WiFi reception. I have 7 neighbors around running 40mhz channels on their 2.4ghz 4 of them are off channels to boot. I want to go nuke their WiFi. Going to run a cat5 over to the printer once I move it to its permanent home. Uploading files to itβs fine but steaming 1080p 15fps is not
We tested a few things, and couldn't measure significant difference in signal quality with the enclosure in it's current form. All the vents makes teh difference, so i think it's mostly just down to the pi's poor ass built-in wifi antenna. Ethernet always wins π
I have been a network engineer for 31 years and I 100% agree with you. The only thing on wifi in my house if possible is portable devices. When the minion upgrade comes out I am going to wire that guy up as well
Nice! I have a love/hate relationship with networking, i know the low level signal processing and the high level protocols but much of the inbetween can be black magic to me sometimes π
Its really simple in comparison to the stuff you do. I started as doing Novell Netware back in the early 90s and like this stuff is way to complicated. I just need to route packets from point A to point B. Its obviously a lot more complicated now compared to 2400 baud modems and 56kb/s leased lines but at the end of the day its just moving an IP packet to the next hop.
being located in San Jose California during the beginning of the dot com days also made it easier for me to get into
Oh yeah, shit's gotten crazy π
I'd love to continue this, but maybe we should leave this poor support thread alone and go to #random π
haha yah just realized that. He is going to come back and be like what happened
