In search of high quality, long lasting dress and casual wear
I just spent 90 minutes at a men's clothier in my town after calling them in advance, telling them my height and build, and asking if they had any clothing in my size that would have a nice flair. They couldn't find me a single thing in my size at all. Nothing. But a single jacket, shirt, or pair of pants. I'm so frustrated and dejected. I know I can go to DXL and get stuff that is long enough, but you get it to fit my ass I have to get it way too big in the waist and then tailor it in or lash it down with a belt. Plus no hate but DXL makes all their clothing look like your going to a g.d. Jimmy Buffett concert or else they put dumbass flaming skulls on stuff. I don't want to look like someone's desperate weird uncle.
They had a few shirts there tonight that has gorgeous, rich patterns in dark indigos and lavish purples that would have been delicious to wear, but nope, not for a 6'4" person, I looked like the incredible hulk bout to bust out.
Is there ANYWHERE you can get quality linen, cotton, viscose, or I guess poly blend if I have to that has a decent design, pleasant hand to the fabric, triple stitched to last, and sized for a tall person? I don't care if it's $500 a shirt as long as it lasts and won't have a hole in the armpit in 6 months or loose threads on the third wear.
I'm literally willing to pay top dollar for quality shit, I just can't find anywhere that sells it!!!!

P.S. bonus points if it's either ethically/sustainably-sourced, made near me to reduce CO2 footprint (I'm in western Massachusetts), or both
as a fellow mass. resident, you will need to go elsewhere for options :xd: . Hows a trip to NYC?
What store were you at if you don’t mind me asking? Wmass local
Need to know what bases you’ve covered before I start recommending stuff
Idk if I’ve ever encountered a triple stitched shirt
6'4" is tall enough that some brands won't work for you, but not so tall that it should be impossible to find fashionable clothes. I'm slightly shorter than you (6'3") and I live in a city, but I still find it easier to find clothes in my size online. Personally I buy most of my clothes secondhand, and have found that shopping on eBay is counterintuitively better for me because sellers show the actual clothing measurements instead of the measurement of a hypothetical person that they might have referenced when they made the clothes. Ssense and Mr. Porter also give garment measurements (although you might actually spend $500 on a shirt on one of those sites). If you have clothes that fit you well currently you can measure those and compare them to the clothes you're looking at.
If you haven't checked it already, look at some of the brands recommended in https://www.reddit.com/r/tallfashionadvice/ The community is pretty quiet but it's a good place to check for brands that do tall sizing. Your description of DXL's aesthetic seems...accurate, and I would steer you away from big and tall stores unless your size is so unusual you can't find clothes anywhere else.
The issue with the waistband sounds less like a height issue and more like the fit of the pants were too slim for your frame (having shoved my hams into slim pants for all of the 2010's I feel your pain). You might have better luck looking at looser fitting pants.

It will also help us recommend brands if we know more about the types of clothes you want. Specific clothing items would be best instead of generic terms like "dress" and "casual"
Since you mentioned Linen, I will mention that Black Ficus makes most of their clothes to order and you can specify length for pants and shirts.
