RatOs2.1 flash fails after 2.0.2 succeded

Hi i am setting up a vcore4 standard kit and the documentation took me to rat0s 2.0 for some reason. I did not realize this was the old version at first. i got as far as flashing the toolboard and then realized there was no vcore4 config available in Mainsail. So after some searching I was able to find os2.1 and tried to flash that. It has failed everytime on 2 different pcs and 3 separate downloads. Did this process cook the sd card? Balena gets all the way through verification then reports the flash failed.
Solution:
Well I guess that makes sense but a heads up would have been nice. Anyway I tried the new sd card with raspi imager and 2.1 and it worked so problem solved.

I finally found another similar post suggesting rpi imager so I am trying that now and will report back.

Try this to reformat. Otherwise maybe the card crapped out

I tried using cmd commands from the balena github troubleshooting guide. It was able to clean, erase and partition the drive but ti still fails after that. I will try this though Nope. I will pickup new cards tomorrow and see.

There seems to be an issue with Balena Etcher 1.19, try downloading the latest 1.18 release instead This does look like the card comitted seppuku

If you don't mind saying, what URL did you download the RatOS2.1 from and what was the filename? I can find a v2.1.x Github page, but the filenames don't look like the v2.0.2 names which are recommended in the docs.

I found it at the ratos github page but had to manually open the assets section which was easy to miss and skip right to is 2.0.2. Under that assets section is where I found it. I found nothing in the doc about which version to go with. All I know is 2.0 does not look and act like what they show in all the videos. Its identical to the older version I put on the VCore 3 6 months ago.

2.1 is marked as a prerelease because the docs aren't done yet And since the docs aren't done yet, the current docs are targeting 2.0.
