Does DH "make up" chunks with Distant Generation?

I'm trying to create the LODs of a large map i downloaded, the map is already generated, i only need to create the "cache" let's say, i tried using distant generation but it seems like, it makes up things?, like it adds snow or trees where there aren't, i don't report this as a bug since i guess it's how the generator is meant to work, but i do wonder how does it work anyways?, does it takes the seed and makes a kind of approximation?

If the map is already generated, distant generation is not needed. DH will only convert the already existing vanilla chunks to LODs, and it sounds like something is going wrong in the process, because the vanilla chunks and LODs should look identical, apart from the quality

Oh, it's a map done in one of those map editors Distant generation respects the block height, and shape of the map, but adds stuff on top of it that probably expects from that specific biome and height, so things like snow or trees, etc I guess it's generating what would exist there if the map wasn't done by hand, what the original seed would generate

You can always set the distant generation to from existing chunks only and see if it helps But the generator should only run any real generation if it does not find an existing chunk And if it finds one it should use only it
