Brand Spotlight: Paraboot - Topic of the day 6/27/24
"Rugged and stylish, Paraboots were born when the company’s founder discovered boots and latex during a trip to America and decided to combine the best elements of each upon his return to France. Over 100 years later, Paraboots are still handmade in France using old school constructions and rubber soles, a true rarity in the footwear business. Over 150 manual operations are required to bring each new pair into the world. That’s a lot of love for one pair of boots. "

ive been on the hunt for a white tyrolean so if anyone got some shouts lmk
The Paraboot Michael is the perfect shoe to impress four dudes on the internet.
I think nmwa has one of the Michaels on sale fyi (price is alright, I do like the styling on these)
Needless to say I own a pair.

Michael tyrolean derbies in Camel vegetable tanned calf
"We've been flagbearers of tyrolean derbies since our store's opening. Something about their charming chunk works so effortlessly with everything from tailoring to denim to shorts. The veg-tan here is perfectly patinated, skipping that awkward orange phase and jumping right into that warm, ever-versatile hue you get wi
I love my chambords though comfort wise they're a bit unforgiving
I may end up bringing them to the ground gripper shoe shop for inserts
But a real take: The quality is there for the price. There’s nothing wrong with the shoes, just most people will never take advantage of them being welted and would be better of with Klemans.
Another often overlooked alternative are the more “orthopedic” Mephistos or the just as classic Heschungs.
Love my michaels. They're all over the internet but I can still only count on one hand the times I've actually seen them being worn irl
i have 2 pairs of heschungs and 1 pair of paraboots (off-meta brown captoe derbies), all acquired secondhand and for under $100 or so
love em all
paraboot lug soles are hot, tyroleans are hot but don't work in every aesthetic
this server's current house style heavily features and lends itself to tyroleans but there's good shit to explore beyond that style
the server influence is real, briefly thought about getting michaels despite them being not at all what i want from my wardrobe lol
I have a pair of Mephisto Rainbows; they're great! orthopaedic is a very accurate description, though, the rest of their shoe range is, shall we say, very much geared towards their older clientele.
I think black tylorean shoes have not reached saturation yet
I kinda regret getting mine in brown
me tooooo
i think i'm gonna sell mine because i haven't worn them in over a year
honestly the biggest problem is they are just too uncomfortable to wear casually if you do any kind of walking
even if they were black i'd still probably be reaching for sneakers 9 times out of 10
I love michaels, independent of whatever the trend has been. Wasn't able to make the sizing work though, just an incredibly odd last. Probably perfect for a lot of people though so I'll just have to miss this one. The fishermans look nice
The arc of my life will be i finally get a pair 5 years after anyone remotely cool has stopped wearing them
had this thought earlier this week
get yours dyed >)
rip I just replaced my wine pair with brown grain. I have plenty of black footwear tho
I actually find mine incredibly comfortable now that they're broken in
Yah i was gonna say my micheals are super comfortable and i’ve logged significant miles in them with no issues
Mine are comfy but a bit heavy
Yeah of all my welted footwear, the Paraboot stuff I own is the most comfortable for sure
Well, except my honey lug Rancourts
I love Paraboot, and only wish I had more models/leathers of models I like.
Purely on the basis of ergonomics I really ought to get some michaels/the loafer variant for my flat, big-ass feet.
But for some reason my brain wants slim, pointy boots.
The only one that has really tempted me was the moss green Michael with the crepe sole, but all the sizing issues reported kept me from pulling the trigger
