Help with fashion!
Hey guys, my name is Chris and i’m 16 from Long Island, NY. I’m looking for some affordable summer pieces to level up my fashion game. Currently i wear basic ass clothes and really rewear the same 5 outfits every week. I don’t mind buying online and I’m open to waiting until something goes on sale. I would prefer to buy new clothes rather than second hand. Here are some reference photos to what I’m looking for:

I’m somewhat confused - you said you only wear shorts and t-shirts and would like to change things up. Yet you only post pics of guys in shorts and t-shirts.
From those pictures you should look into picking up a necklace!
Post your fits
owh thats not him lol bc 4/5 pics were the same person lol
i said all i wear are like the same 5 outfits and they’re usually like o neill tees and nike or adidas shorts. i meant that i want to get some more fashionable pieces, not necessarily just shorts and tees, but those were some outfits that i happened to like.
fr, i was looking into this one https://us.sergedenimes.com/products/silver-st-christopher-necklace

Silver St Christopher Necklace
The Silver St Christopher Necklace is a classic necklace pendant with a minimal chain style. Made from 925 Sterling Silver & hallmarked by the Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office. St Christopher is the Patron Saint of Travel making this piece a great gift for somebody who loves to travel, or as a talisman for yourself.
given the pictures it might be helpful to funnel your focus - i would take a look at #waywt and see what kinds of fits posted there that you enjoy to narrow it down, otherwise there's a long list of things that you could get and waste your money on
wdym
i could say "wear a tank tops, camp neck short sleeve button downs, long sleeve opened shirts opened, polo shirts, or popovers" - all of those are a degree higher in interest or formality than a t-shirt
to be real, i didn’t come in here to get ideas on different clothes for summer, i do still like the look in all the outfits i showed, i just need some brands to buy from because i can’t keep buying from the same brands and getting the same thing over and over again
i do want to change up some shorts colors tho, and maybe get some different tees, but in general for the summer i kind of want to keep it to shorts and tees like the ones shown in the pictures
What’s your price range?
Abercrombie
you mean price range for total or for a single piece
i’ll spend like 300 total
Yeah check Abercrombie and Uniqlo
:uniqlo:
abercrombie, uniqlo and sale j.crew are probably your best bets
yall like this too?
maybe patagonia to buy a pair or baggies
Also like, Zara and Urban Outfitters to be honest
i do like zara shorts i’m ngl
This is likely to be Chinese or Indian made cheap stuff. Just get your jewelry second hand.
Serge DeNimes is known for its fashion-forward designs, premium materials, and unisex styles. The brand's pieces are made from 925 sterling silver and most are hallmarked by the Goldsmiths' Assay Office in London to verify the quality of the materials. Some say the brand has blended the line between fine jewelry and the fashion industry, and that its pieces are exquisite, elaborate, and vintage.
found on google
Yeah doesn’t say where it’s made.
it says based in england
Zara’s based in Spain, their clothes are made in China - your point being?
Zara's supplier list, therefore, includes twelve clusters that concentrate 92-97% of the production: Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Portugal, India, Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, Brazil, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Argentina.
wouldn’t say just china but wtv
Man I’m just giving you advice, take it or leave it, it’s not my business what you do with your money.
You’ll get a necklace like this for a 20 second hand, but go ahead and spend 100$ on it.
where should i look for a second hand necklace like this? thrift stores?
eBay. Look for keywords like 925 silver, Mexican silver etc.
There's a jewellery thread here, probably too much to read through it all lol but might get some good ideas from it, or feel free to post questions in there! https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1137088371055927416/1137088371055927416
Etsy is quite popular for small scale sellers, but you just need to be careful with checking reviews and stuff
editing to add this long list of jewellery stores kindly posted by isaac! https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1137088371055927416/1239614560478953506
alr thanks guys, i’m gonna look on zara, uniqlo, abercrombie and some other places and come back here with some pieces and see what yall think
Your .AVIF image files aren't working btw, at least not for me on mobile
alr one sec
alr here are some pieces i found and the total is $270
Looks perfectly inoffensive
They all look good, the only thing I would caution against is buying everything at once. For example you might decide that you want some longer shorts after a month of wearing these, best to buy 1 pair now and see how you like em first before shelling out for more similar ones
I bet nearly every person here has tales of buying too much stuff at once and ending up not liking it a few months later
lmao, alr bet thanks bro
needed to get myself some essentials bc i really don’t have good, plain tees and shorts
FYI a hallmark is a bare minimum sort of thing, it doesn't mean that the silver is high quality just that it's actually silver
And what the purity of the silver is (meaning that the alloy is 92.5% silver which is standard)
oh ok
The Uniqlo U tees are nice
I wouldn't say anything is essential however fashion wise
well briefs/boxer shorts/ungerwear are highly recommended!
well i agree but it’s always nice to have a good selection of the basics
a good base to build on is really what i’m going for rn
